Habibul Bashar, the most capped player of Bangladesh, has been dropped from the 12-man squad for the final Test of the 2-match Warid Telecom Test series against South Africa. Middle order batsman Rajin Saleh received the nod of the selectors ahead of the former skipper.
Bashar, who had a poor first Test in which he could only manage 13 runs from two outings, is going through an extended lean patch and has failed to manage a single half century in last 19 Test innings
Under-fire wicketkeeper who is also suffering from a poor batting form managed to retain his place largely due to coach Siddons' faith in his ability.
The tourists are yet to name their squad for the second Test, but left arm spinner Robin Pietersen is expected to be included in place of spinner Johan Botha.
South Africa lead the two-match series 1-0 after sealing a five-wicket victory in Dhaka. The second Test starts on tomorrow at 10.00 AM local time at Chittagong Divisional Stadium.
