Sri Lanka secured an impressive 465 run victory over Bangladesh on the 4th day of the 2nd Test match in Sher E Bangla Stadium in Mirpur today. Bangladesh, chasing an improbable victory target of 624, collapsed to 158 in the second innings as 7 Bangladesh batsmen failed to reach double figures.
Tilekeratne Dilshan was the star of the show as he grabbed 4 wickets for 10 runs in addition to his second consecutive century and was adjudged both man of the match and man of the series. Bangladesh struggled against the disciplined spin attack of the visitors and Ajantha Mendis initially rocked Bangladesh with three decisive blows including skipper Mohammad Ashraful.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim tried to revive Bangladesh with a 6th wicket 92 run partnership, but the introduction of Dilshan's part time off spin broke the partnership and cleaned up the tail without any further resistance.
