Bangladesh recall Enamul Jr. for Grameenphone Test series
18 December 2008
Bangladesh have recalled Enamul Haque Jr. for the two match home Test series against Sri Lanka which is due to start on the Boxing day. The selectors opted for Enamul as the first choice left arm spinner Abdur Razzak is currently suspended from bowling by ICC due to a suspect bowling action.
The 14-man squad has no other surprise except the omission of Naeem Islam who sustained a finger injury during the latest round of National Cricket League while playing for Rajshahi. Naeem's injury opened the door for middle order batsman Rajin Saleh who earned a place in the Test squad despite his recent poor run of form.
BCB have also extended the appointment of Mohammad Ashraful and Mashrafe Mortaza as the captain and vice-captain of the national team until the end of the tri-series, also featuring Zimbabwe, which starts at the end of the two match Test series against Sri Lanka.
