Dazzling centuries from Sanath Jayasuriya and Kumar Sangakkara powered Sri Lanka to a crushing 158-run win over hapless Bangladesh to reach the final of the Asia Cup 2008 in Karachi on Monday.
On his his 39th birthday Jayasurity produced a spectacular 88-ball 130 while Sangakkara scored a polished 121 as Sri Lanka piled up a mammoth 332-8. In reply, Bangladesh had no answer to spin magician Muralitharan's doosra and succumbed to 174 in 38.3 overs.
Eight Bangladesh batsmen failed to reach the double figure on a good batting track and only Rakibul Hasan showed some resistance with his second 50 of the tournament. Bangladesh will play their last match of the Asia Cup on Friday, 4 July.
