Hot on the heels of a relatively good series at home against the Kiwis, a 15 member Bangladesh headed out to South Africa on Saturday. The team will play one Twenty20 international followed by a three-match one-day series and a two-Test series against the hosts during their month-long tour. This will be their first full away series in South Africa since 2002. The Tigers begin their tour with a Twenty20 match on November 5 in Johannesburg.
The team is bolstered by the return of batsman Roqibul Hassan who had to sit out the New Zealand tour because of a thumb injury during the August away tour to Australia. Pacer Nazmul Hosain returns too in place of all-rounder Mahmuddullah Riyad.
Speaking to reporters at the Zia International Airport on the eve of their departure, Bangladesh vice-captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said "It's a big challenge to face South Africa in their own conditions. I think our bowlers did well in the last couple of series but we have to do well as a team and every department to show the improvement in the tour.â€
