Bangladesh's spin trio have restricted West Indies to 237 in the first innings of the second and final Digicel Test in Grenada today. Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan and Enamul Haque Jr. each bagged three wickets as West Indies batsmen were choked to their demise after Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field on a spinning track .
West Indies started their innings positively courtesy of an attacking fifty by opener Dale Richards and were well placed at 104 for 1 before lunch. Off-spinner Mahmudullah removed Richards and opened the floodgate as West Indies crumbled against spin for successive Tests. Travis Dowlin (94) saved the graces of the hosts, but Bangladesh spinners regularly picked wickets from the other end and kept the hosts under pressure for most part of the day. Dowlin shared an 8th wicket 59 run partnership with Ryan Austin to rescue West Indies before getting out on 94, 6 runs short of a deserved century.
Bangladesh scored 35 runs with the loss of Imrul Kayes at the end of day one. Play will resume half an hour early tomorrow to make up for the time lost due to rain interruptions.
