After a historic and successful tour of the West Indies, the Bangladesh cricket team is on route to Zimbabwe to play a five-match one-day series entitled the "Grameenphone Cup". All five matches are two be played at the picturesque Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo with the first match on August 9.
The team will reach Zimabwe on August 6th via London and Dubai. They will be joined in Dubai by left-arm spinner Enamul Haque who replaces the injured Abdur Razzak. Also joining the entourage at Dubai will be BCB's director Gazi Ashraf Hossain, who will play the roles as a head of the team management and selector Akram Khan. In the absence of injured Mashrafe Mortaza, stand-in captain Shakib Al Hassan will lead the team
The series will be sponsored by the cell phone company Grameenphone, the first Bangladeshi company to sponsor an overseas cricket series.
