Sri Lanka secured a place in the final of the triangular series in Dhaka after beating Bangladesh by nine wickets in the 4th match of the tri-nation ODI series in Mirpur today.
Batting first, Bangladesh could only manage 249 for loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs on a very good batting wicket. A number of Bangladesh batsmen scored 30s and 40s but could not score big enough to post a challenging score. In reply, Upul Tharanga and Mahela Jayawardene shared a record 215 run opening partnership to guide Sri Lanka to victory within 43 overs. Bangladesh could only manage the wicket of Mahela Jayawardene who edged Naeem after scoring a breezy 108. Tharanga remained unbeaten on 118.
