Paksitan's Shahid Afridi took five wickets and was unbeaten on 24 as Pakistan won the first ODI of the 3-ODI series against Bangladesh by 5 wickets. While Pakistan were set a target of only 92 runs, they had a slight hiccup as they lost their first five wickets for 63 but Afridi and skipper Misbah-ul Haq (16 not out) kept their heads to steer the side to the winning score of 93-5.
Earlier Afridi and the rest of Pakistan's spinners wrecked Bangladesh’s fragile batting line-up. While Afridi took the accolades, with his 5-23, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal took a wicket each. Nasir Hossain top-scored for Bangladesh with 21, and only Rubel Hossain (15 not out), Shakib Al Hasan (15) and Mushfiqur Rahim (11) reached double figures for Bangladesh as their innings fizzled out in only 30.3 overs.
