Bangladesh in England: Test report card
Asif Saleh
With the much awaited Test series between Bangladesh-England ending
disappointingly for Bangladesh, it is time to evaluate the individual
performances. Coming back from a series victory, Bangladesh crashed down
to earth with some less than stellar performances. On a scale of 1
through10, here is how I would rate the individual performances. more...
The Lord’s of disaster
Rubu Islam
More than thirty-six hours have passed since the end of the Lord’s
Test. I spent this entire time blaming everyone for the heart-wrenching
result. Finally, I have calmed down enough to logically think over the
whole debacle. more...
About failures - a history lesson
Zunaid Haroon
We, humans, have a likelihood of wiping out memory, be it, short or
long. And hence when confronted by cliché of history repeating itself we
stand confused. Let’s take a step back; this is not a history lesson.
The attempt is to humbly outline the achievements of an underdog, the
Bangladesh cricket team, in the recent history. The history part is a
simple analogy and the idea is to draw relevance that progress does not
happen in a linear curve, rather almost in a burst after long gaps of
silence. more...
Bangladesh at Lord’s: Some random thoughts
Dr. Mahmudul Huq Khan
Those were the days of newspapers and radios. Those were the days when
test matches would have a rest day on Sundays in England. So much has
changed since then in the world of cricket, but Lord’s remain the
ultimate ground were all cricketers want to play a test match. more...

When I got a call from local politician Murad Qureshi about the Mayor
of London’s reception for the Bangladesh Cricket Team, the first thing I
thought of was of banglacricket.com's avid followers . more...

Tour matches: More than a warmup
James Stedman
The key to any great team is depth. This has been proven in every sport
and the Australian cricket team is the best example. With a team like
that, players are always motivated to give their best knowing that
someone else could easily take up the place should they fail. Bangladesh
is finally starting to enjoy the emergence of depth to its cricketing
ranks and performances in the tour matches will potentially determine
the final playing eleven. more...

The case against the second spinner
Razab Q. Chowdhury
Armchair allrounder Razab casts his eyes upon the clamor for Enamul's
inclusion into the Lord's playing 11 and decides, "meh!" As usual statistics
and subjective arguments are his weapons of choice. more...

Test batting tactics for the England tour
Wasiq Khan
I believe there is general agreement that the fortunes of the BD team
rest on the batsmen. I do not think we can expect our bowling attack to
get England out twice in the test matches. Consequently the onus is upon
our batsmen to ensure that we put up a respectable show. It is time we
begin to objectively consider the appropriate tactics that our batsmen
should adopt against the bowlers we are likely to face. more...
Target: England
Rubu Islam
Good news! The Tigers are in peak form right now. They have recently
won their very first Test, Test series and ODI series. We have never had
the fortune to see so many in-form Tigers roaming around. Mashrafee is
back, and he is back with a bang! With his new found strength with the
bat and wilyness with ball, he is in rare form. more...
The last bowling spot for the England tour
Shameran Abed
Most of us had assumed that the BCB would follow the current practice
of touring parties to pick two different sides for a tour, one for the
Test series and one for the ODI series, with the necessary players being
exchanged when one part of the tour is over and the oher is about to commence.
However, it appears that the BCB will pick just one squad for the England
tour that will play in the Tests and the ODIs against England and Australia.

The last batting spot for the England tour
Razab Q. Chowdhury
Six batsmen appear to be set for the tour to England this May, barring
injuries. Javed Omar has been discussed to death but at present, there
are no experienced alternative openers for what is likely to be a critical
tour in terms of Bangladesh\'s perception in the Test arena. more...
