i have problem with all the match threads
dear admistrators can we please standaedize some key portions of the match threads...
vital info that each match thread should have
1. accurate date and time. (possibly mentioning diff standard time)
2. a link to a live scoreboard, which will end up being a scoreboard atleast at the end of the game
3. other vital info such such current standings..... what is the goal... like for current u19 game what we need to qualify./ current standing.. if its a series... who is ahead ie 3 to 0 bd against aus.
4. optional: any milestones for any player, or debut ec etc...
then the fun part of the other thread.
before i used spend a lot of time in the forum/cricinfo so i already knew everything but as days goes by i realized i want pertinent info...the most imp thing like a scoreboard is not therr.......
i suspect majoriy of ppl looking for those vital infos.....why do i have to digg through nonsense to get what i want??

if those info are not there match thread should be rejected and not made sticky until poster fixdes it. mods do not have to spend time to fix it...someone else will create one with appropriate info.

I agree. I'm getting annoyed with all the fluff threads. But as soon as one is posted (fluffy that is), you have a slew of hangers on repeating one after another nice thread. I'm not saying that fluff is bad but add info with the fluff.

I want to hug Orpheus.
:On topic: while we are at it, AF's diversion of Namibia thread with posting other scorecard was quite distracting.

I like the idea of having few essential characteristics. What I would like to see most is the thread opener making a sincere effort in creating a match thread. There are plenty of people who are interested in creating the thread so when someone does he/she should try to spend some time on it and do a good job. If it's fluff it should still have a message and a theme. If it's stats based then it could have a nice intro and stats on the key players.

Stats on key players might be over kill - Just hyperlink to CI or Cbuzz or ....
But what should be minimum is place, date, time and links to online commentary. And if BC is covering it, link to the BC coverage (as well as CI).

How hard is it to copy and pasted the game title from CI scorecard? That's right, because some of the guys open MTs like 8 weeks early, and CI don't usually have scorecard for those games that are so far into the future.
Must copy paste the title from CI scorecard. This rule will also stop all the early threads. /Solved.
