Proposal: Ad & Commercial Offers Forum
Posting ad and commercial offers are restricted in BC forum.
Still we see many cricket streaming offers appear in our forum and then moderators promptly edit those threads. But I think many BC members would, at least, like to know about the cricket streaming offers available in the market. For example, personally I’m interested to know about the cheap streaming offers for the IND-PAK series or any other series involving Australia.
I’m not sure what the editorial policy on this issue is; but it would be nice to have a separate forum on board at BC for posting ad and commercial offer threads. This will allow commercial posters a designated platform to announce their services and BC members will have a one stop source to check out all ad and commercial offers at their own risk. This might also reduce moderator’s workload of editing commercials offer threads that often appear in our Bangladesh Cricket forum.
Is this something doable?

There are several reasons for BC not to allow posting of unsolicited ads directly to these forums. I am speaking solely as a private member and not in my capacity as a BC volunteer.
A major reason is financial:
BC is run by a group of volunteers as a non-profit organization. Just because it is non profit does not mean that it does not have any expenses. In order to continue to provide this wonderful avenue for BD cricket fans to gather and confabulate, we need revenues. There are hosting costs, there are software costs, there are costs to expand the services we would love to offer (statistical databases et al). So far we have managed to so much by dint of thousands of free hours provided by our volunteers, some ad revenue (Google), selling hosting, and donations from our members. We do need to have a steady revenue stream to ensure continuing viablity of BC and its future growth.
Now that BC has become one of the prime spots for cricket fans, we are getting more and more of these ads that are posted. These organizations are intending to get a financial benefit by virtue of BC traffic. There is no other way to say it. BC needs a piece of the pie. There is a quid pro quo. Buy an ad here.
As I write this, I see an interesting opportunity here. In line with your thinking, this forum could be a Craig's list like for pay classified ad section. Pay X dollars and BC can put your ad here.
Just some personal thoughts.

I also think its a good opertunity for us and them. have a subforum for a one post ads for X ammount of money. the thread has to be closed right away so that the one opened first stays at the top.

One of our biggest concerns is the legal issue, particularly with live streaming. We don't want those issues to bite back down the road and force us to cut or even shut the forum down. We like to keep Banglacricket up and running all the time, at all cost.
We have high hopes with bc. We have been planning our growth slowly but surely and steadily. With your help and support, one day ..
Until then, have a nice, decent and enjoyable forum

I was also thinking along the same line. What ever ad/product is advertised and the members not receiving the quality that was promised opens up doors that leads to law-suits. Fraudulent advertising can cause problems to this site. Authenticity may be an issue also.
So before allowing anyone to post an ad legal papers attached with attorney fees must be signed for full responsibility. Each add should have a disclaimer also. Yearly renewal gives the advertizers option for backing out. Upfront money is a must. Only the person who signed the papers (and may be owners/super Admins) should be able to create threads in there and no one else should be able to post.
Generating automatic monthly revenues can be a part of continuous improvement process.
