Is it really going to happen? Will Bangladesh win two matches in a row on Australian soil?
The Bangladesh team has destroyed the morale of the fans so many times that it feels frightening to even think of 2 warm up wins in a row. True, the opposition for the warm up matches do not have quality players like when other teams go on tour in Australia.
When only one match is won, that sounds like an upset. But when two matches are won, then people start to believe that No, the team is capable of winning a match or two. In case of Bangladesh, it is only a matter of not arranging the right kind of opposition for the bottom ranked test playing nation by the administrators.
If Bangladesh does manage to get a win today on Day Four of the last and final warm up match on this maiden Australia tour of Bangladesh, then it will only be a big boost for the confidence of the players before facing the mighty Australians, nothing more. Because the results of warm up matches are not publicized as much as the results of the big matches - the Test matches and the One Day International matches.
Nonetheless, a victory is a victory, no one can deny the happiness in the achievement of a victory. But according to coach Dave Whatmore, a win or loss in this tour is not of any consequence, however improving individual performance is.
So, whatever happens, let us all hope that our boys will perform today - with the bat, in bowling friendly conditions.
