Yes, a lot of the ppl on this site tend to consider players over 27 as too old. Am I wrong?

If only BCB did not have to ban Kapali for 10 years..3 was enuf. He wasn't valued that's why he went. He would have been a real good batting allrounder in tests. I want to see a decent pace all-rounder. We have Shuvo as a good prospect for spinning all-rounder.

Shakib batted really bad during SA tour. I wish he could improve his batting along with his fine bowling performance!

This is the fact our Legend Rafique was like that as well.Though Rofuqe was not a full fledged all rounder.Rather we can tell him bowling all rounder.
I followed this for last 15 years when he was a club cricketer he had some batting ability but he tried his best and improved his batting a lot.Got his price as well.
Recently Sidons is trying to improve batting of our bowlers.Bats man r improving bowling as well.Riyad was never serious with his bowling now he is working with that.Naeem is following him. . then Farhad Hossain,Nasir Hossain,Mahmudul Hasan,Alok,Suhrawardy,Marshal Ayub,Mosharrof Rubel.Wow its a huge list.As the standard for enterance to the national team has rose i think shortly we r going to get a second SHAKIB.
I am impressed about our all round prospects but i think we have some deficiency in Pace all rounder!!

Forget Dollar and Sajidul. I don't think they are good enough bowlers, let alone all rounders.

I still dont think India has a genuine pacer allrounder. I dont think Irfan pathan is a decent bowler, or a decent batter. Zaheer/Nehra/Ishant/Singh/Sharma they can hardly grip the bat. If India lacks something in their team, it is a pacer allrounder and a genuine good quality quickee [ Ishant is not world class, I think there are at least 10s of bowlers better than him in the world.]

I apologize for being a matobbor, but I have this theory for allrounders.
** An allrounder is a player who can be in the team solely as a bowler AND if he cant bowl, then solely as a batsman and Vice versa**

Wow its a good work.I almost agree with u except few.I tink u have over rated ash a bit and Recent performance at MAHARASTRA sugests that DICKENS and Dollar r better opener than what u think? No FARHAD HOSSAIN within 20?

Another theory "He is a all Rounder whos batting average is better than his bowlling average."
Any way we r simply talking about players who have potential to be second SHAKIB.

there are a few different types of allrounders, the one we all like is the "genuine" allrounder, the player who can get in on either batting or bowling alone. the other types are "batting" allrounder, "bowling" allrounder and bits and pieces player (this guy isn't good enought o get in on either batting or bowling alone but all his skills put together make him useful enough to be selected). certainly M.H.Rubel's definition is something that has been used to determine if someone is an allrounder or not.

nearly a year after this thread was opened and BD still misses a proper pacer allrounder (farhad reza being the closest), although on the up side there are quite a few pacers who can handle a bat so at least BD has the talent to create a decent tail even if it's lacking in pacer allrounders.

i'd say currently BD's top 5 allrounders are: shakib, riyad, naeem, alok and shuvo. delwar could possibly turnout to be a decent pacer allrounder, but he hasn't played enough matches to really tell (nazmul hossain milon might work in ODIs if he can develop). mash i don't consider an allrounder.
