Ronaldinho named FIFA World Player of the Year
ZURICH, Switzerland (Ticker) - Ronaldinho, a talented playmaker who has transformed Barcelona into a power, was named the FIFA World Player of the Year on Monday.
Ronaldinho captured 89 first-place votes and 620 points overall. The Brazilian finished ahead of Frenchman Thierry Henry (552 points) and European Player of the Year Andriy Shevchenko (253).
Led by Ronaldinho, Barcelona has opened a comfortable nine-point lead in the Spanish Primera Liga.
Ronaldinho became the fourth Brazilian to win the award, joining Romario (1994), Ronaldo (1996, 1997 and 2002) and Rivaldo (1999). All four players won the award while playing with Barcelona at some point.

i was hoping for thierry henry to get it this year. but it wasn’t mean to be. even though, last year, he did so much for the club; on the other hand, zidane hadn’t done anything special in that respect. but the organization choose zidane instead. Anyway, I don’t know where would barcelona be without ronaldinho. he single-handedly moved them out of rot last year and it continues this year as well. I think this is probability the reason why FIFA choose him.

Yes, definitely. It would be huge mistake. Everything is going right for him in Barcelona.morever, you do not want to end up like veron or crespo.

Henry is awesome. But, Ronaldinho has the potential to be the greatest ever. I hope you guys had a chance to see some of his game.

Yeah I seen him. Best thing I remembered about him when he made England cry. He was simply unstoppable till the red card.
