Default Prepare FAST BOUNCY Pitches or face Australian/SA Domination

I know we have heard this before but there is only one solution to the Subcontinent Team’s problems “ Prepare Fast Bouncy Tracks”. All the pitches in the Subcontinent should be atleast 10 Times faster than the WACA pitch in Perth.

Some might say it is natural to have slow wickets and we have an advantage while playing at home. However the CRUCIAL POINT IS “ IT IS VERY EASY TO ADJUST FROM PLAYING ON BOUNCY PITCHES TO PLAYING ON SLOW WICKETS BUT VERY DIFFICULT TO ADJUST FROM PLAYING ON SLOW TRACKS TO FAST TRACKS”. It is for this reason that when Aus and SA play in the subcontinent the matches are interesting but when the Subcontinent teams tour the result is a forgone conclusion.

The Boards have been talking about it yet nothing has been done about it. Subcontinent Boards Please Wake up or face a long time of Australian and SA Dominance in World Cricket.

I've said this to other people. I'll say it to you.

You know *nothing* about cricket.

In case you are not aware, Bangladesh is a flat, low-lying, tropical country that tends to the damp side. Therefore, pitches in Bangladesh will not tend to be hard, bouncy affairs.

Yes, you can fake it for practice purposes with astroturf on concrete - but these are *not* first-class wickets, which are made of dirt and grass.

Finally, as far as "when the Subcontinent teams tour the result is a forgone conclusion", I'd like to refer you to my universe, where India tied their last tour of Australia, winning one, losing one and drawing two.

Go, look it up on CricInfo

http://aus.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/2...ND_IN_AUS/wci/

Actually, as far as IT IS VERY EASY TO ADJUST FROM PLAYING ON BOUNCY PITCHES TO PLAYING ON SLOW WICKETS BUT VERY DIFFICULT TO ADJUST FROM PLAYING ON SLOW TRACKS TO FAST TRACKS”, I'd like to refer you to how well certain Australian batsmen did on the last tour of Bangladesh. Here are the stats

ML Hayden 2 3 0 107 72 35.66 48.63 - 1 6 -
MJ Clarke 2 3 1 51 23* 25.50 46.78 - - - -
DR Martyn 1 2 0 11 7 5.50 36.66 - - - -

Instant adaption to low, slow, turnning pitches, huh.

Two points:

1. The (former) glassy surface at the WACA is due predominantly to three things: 1) a particular type of clay that is used in the wicket, which has now run out; and 2) the weather conditions in WA, which tend to be dry with little moisture, and 3) the Fremantle Doctor that blows across the ground. It would be physically impossible to grow a pitch that would be ten times faster than the WACA, unless you have an environment that replicates the above. The WACA has slowed down substantially due to the fact that the riverbed that they used to get the clay from has dried out.

Fair point. But Australia has variable climate - it is tropical and humid in the north, where Brisbane is, so you get green wickets that seam and swing, while in Perth you have low humidity and a dry, hot climate, which means the ball does not move much off the seam and the grounds tend to be hard and fast. The MCG is a true surface, while Adelaide is a batsman's paradise which takes spin on the 4th and 5th days. And Sydney is usually a slow, spinning track. That's why OZ batsmen tend to adjust well to different wickets - because they are exposed to different wickets at home.

IanW, thanks for repeating the post. Unfortunately, we'll get 'special' posters all the time so I say you practice your cut and paste techniques. Same goes for OZGOD.
