Default Pro cricket in the US

Read the interview of a tricky avaricious Patel who has his own heuristic method of changing some cricket basics to make the game "popular" in the states.

Pro Cricket

Some of the changes in this formet of cricket:

"We have a five ball over instead of six, we want to have a 100-ball innings. It's all about marketing in America. Trying to explain a six ball over to Americans, 'Why six?' they will say and we don't have an answer.

If they say 'Why five?' then it's easy maths.

Also, in baseball they have designated hitters and the pitchers aren't required to bat. We're going to do something similar and allow one person to be replaced by a designated hitter during his side's innings. Chances are it will be the main strike bowler who isn't required to bat."

To be honest, I have nothing against these guys setting up cricket in the US, but what annoys me most is that they are ready to change all the rules of the game just so that the Americans buy it. And that guy who's the head of this knows there is money in it, which is why he shamelessely ready to do anything.

Good that ICC have refused to recognize this poo poo cricket as legitimate.

Five ball overs is completely unimportant - Australia used to have eight ball overs, while the English used six.

A hundred balls is, in my mind, too short for a good game - even for a one day game - but it's still cricket.

The DH is an abomination in baseball - and only one of the leagues uses it anyway (yes, there are 2 baseball leagues, the American Legaue and the National League), but it doesnt really affect cricket ... and lets face it, with 16 overs, how often is your no 11 going to bat anyway ?

Basically, anything that gets Americans playing cricket is a Good Thing.
