National cricketers to undergo drug test before world cup 2007

BCB decided to carry out random drug test on national cricketers before world cup. Speaking to reporter, CEO Mahmudur Rahman said 'We expect and believe Bangladesh Cricket is 100% drug free. For safety reason, we will do random drug test on national cricketers. In case of drug our stand is very clear, if anyone found guilty we will take exemplary action.'

Habibul Bashar welcomed the decision but he was a bit cautious about the practice of taking some common medicines without prescription in commin ailments.

This is a good move by BCB. IMO, instead of random screening, a thorough screening would have been better.

I think it's a great move. But I disagree with you Miraz bhai. I think random screening is better, specially because in that case there isn't a fixed schedule or fixed turn for the players.

Regardless, it's a good move by BCB. This should make sure that the players stay away from this evil.

indeed its a good move as long as BCB do not take a percentage/commission for each of the tests they do. because i think this is a very easy way to earn some extra money for some people.

I am inclined to agree on the randomness issue, but if it is truly random, there shouldn't be a problem. As long as it isn't "intentionally accidentally" random, or "Mohammad Hussein randomly cavity searched at La Guardia" random, I'm happy.

Let me clarify. I want an intial screening for all which should be followed by a regular random screening.
