never heard of this newspaper before. how is it overall?
about basher, since he does not feel completely comfortable, then he better not play the 3rd match. no point taking risk. he rather take it easy 'til completely cured and then do the batting practice at net before the game.
BUT, no more experiment: the team should be
- Javed Omar
- Nafis Iqbal
- Rajin Saleh
- Mohammad Ashraful
- Aftab Ahmed
- Mushfiqur Rahim
- Khaled Masud
- Mohammad Rafique
- Mashrafee Mortaza (Does he need rest?)
- Taposh Baisha
- Shahadat Hossain
for the test, only mushfiqur rahim will be replaced by suman.
In my opinion, experiment with shahriar nafees for this test series is over. but rahim can make it up for bashar in the 3rd match.

Come on Agent, give Munir a break. Mash is not pushing himself to bring out his best in practice matches anyway.

i had that mind. that's why mashrafee is in bold. but as it seems he did not find his line and length in the last match. another match might help him find that. does not matter what munir does, we are not gonna (at least i hope not) put him in test squad based on one match. so, there is no point playing him.

Then, if one of the first choice pacers get injured, we have to go with Talha, the only other pacer with some match practice. What do u think about that?

Yea he travel all the way to England and if he doesn't play a practice match, will break his heart. I would sit Mashri and let Munir play just to be fair!

in all fairness munir deserves a shot...mash should sit...he will bring good numbers against england (i hope).
for the tests, i think we should go with rajib and masri opening, and taposh 1st change. there is no way that a bowler faster than masri should be behind tapash. tapash is still better than rajib tho. rafique at this point because of his batting and experience wins over enamul. if rajib falters then play talha or munir in the 2nd test.

sometimes fans here like to call him basher started from the century in Caribbean where the commentator called him bashar the basher the dasher or something like that.

We all know Mashree, Shahadat, Tapash are going to play in 1st test, but all of them yet to find their way to take wicket in English condition. And we have only one practice match left in hand, now which is more important to us? Send them ( Mashree, Shahdat, Tapash ) to the field to find and learn how to get wicket in English condition or give fair chance to Munir? It is totally unfortunate in case of Munir and I understand that, but again we have no choice but to stick to our bigger interest.
As for injury concern, we have Talaha as backup and Munir can still play for instant in a crucial situation when needed.

How about playing 5 specialist batsman and play Anwar Hossain Munir in place of Mushfiqur Rahim in Agent's squad?

All of our top batsman failed miserably in back to back innings against sassex. So in my opinion they all should play in last practice match, and try to find and learn how to bat for a long innings. As a matter of fact we should field the exact team which will play in 1st test. It's sad though Munir is not getting his fair chance, but we should look for better interest at the moment.
BTW, this off topic though.

I see fwullah's point- Rahim is not part of orginal test squad, he just filling up for Bashar this match. So replacing him with Munir will not deprive any probable 1st test squad member of match practice.
But, it will tip off the balance of the team. After what happened in Sussex, I won't take the risk. If bowlers fail again to make any impact, then it will be up to our batsmen to push the game to a draw. That case Rahim is the best replacement of Bashar.

It is very likely Munir will play as i don't see Mashrafe playing 3 practice games in a row as he is prone to injury and will be rested.
Bolwers for this match
Tapash
Munir
Aftab
Rafiq
Enam

Another point- we already got the skippy down by a meduim pacer. Harmy will obviously target him and others with bouncers. So, we need our reserve batters ready in case of more nasty incidents.
