Back to Square One
As I write this BD needs 122 of 59 Balls but are still taking singles. What exactly is the point of today's game, if we still play for respectable loss. The players are playing to save their butts rather than play for the Country. Is there any hope left at the end of the tunnel?

Even the Aussie commie is disgusted by the approach of just playing out the 50 overs, WTF, this is the game plan even after playing test crickets for over 10 years? Shameful

BC Front Page:
Bhua, bhua, bhua
That's the chant from the crowds in Bangladesh when they are displeased with the happenings on the field. This is not an expletive. This is not a swear word. It is a colloquial Bengali word for which an apt translation is "bogus". And that is how we fans of BanglaCricket felt like yelling as we watched the ponderous batting of the team as they chased Australia's score in the first ODI.

This is just sad. Don't know what changes should be made. Pathetic cricket.

blame the management and coach all you want, but if those 11 idiots in the middle don't perform / don't bother to perform, nothing will change.

The ONLY reason I am willing to give them a pass on this match is that they have batted poorly in the WC and they needed a better showing in this match, just to give their ego a boost. In that sense, it's a success. When you are down and out, it's hard to just go out and make a game of it. Now that they have exorcised he ghosts of the 58 and 78, they should go after the Aussie bowling in the next two matches. Otherwise, what's the point of playing? Why would any other team bother to show up if we don't?

When you decide to bowl, after "winning" the toss, you dont even try with 6 wickets in hand in ODI, try to just bat out 50 overs, tells that something is seriously going wrong in the "HEAD".
Loser mentality of not having "world class players" "we are ranked number 9 so cant compete with number 1" can only take you so far. This team has declined to a situation and went back 6 years with so much better talent and experience. I dont see any new set of players and the future looks really bleak under this management. We are declining and declining fast.
Its time for a fresh start. Jamie needs to go, period.

Strategy, Gameplan, Preparation are part of the game. When you fail miserabley in all those 3 departments, even the best 11 players in the world cant win a game for you.

well the management is responsible to find XI but they keep picking the same old 8-9 losers from 160 million people.

Exactly, he is just taking this team backwards. You are playing one of the best side of the world. I did not see any sign of planning, target preparation, gameplan. This is what happens when all the coach cares about vacation and easy money.
Its takes hard work, dedication and talent to coach and prepare a team. This guy probabaly is a good coach, but his utter laziness and lack of hard work is bound to take any team down.
In 4 years he could not prepare 10 batsmen on his own. All he does exchange one batsmen with another. So now he is puzzzled as who will play at 4 and who will play at 7. Even a decent coach would prepare a shadow team for backups and replacements for out of form players and create competition.
Replace all you want for Mushfiq, Raqib, Junaed etc etc etc. But when you have problem in the brain, the body wont deliver.

By the time Siddons leave, he will make sure all our status (Test and ODI) will be lost.
Shakib is already blaming the bowlers for the loss. Batsmen did a good job scoring 200.

Well Siddions was no interest in improving the team, hes just going through the motions just like the 11 idiots. Siddions knows he ain't staying after this series.

I am thinking in the same way. When you are at 9 for 2 (after 58 and 78), probably it was necessary to stay in the crease for regaining some confidence. By tolerating one painful game we may see some more wins in the near future.

I agree with that... 210/5 against Australia starting from 9/2 is not bad... they couldn't go for the chase, just decided to prove they can make a decent score and did it.
Now in the next two matches they have to try and win.

I already told, it has added to the improvement statistics of the coach. I am not sure if you have followed the match. But people, who even followed the match, will forget about the context at which we scored these runs; but they will open the stats book to show a 210 score, a decent one. Siddons +1, fans in the stadium (vua vua shouters) 0.

ok,hear this. if we tried to play attacking cricket and got all out, people would have said we haven't learnt to play sensibly and all that.but that doesn't mean i am supporting the $h!t that our golden boys pulled out today.the perferct approach for this game was exactly what was being done in the shakib-tamim partnership but it was too bad consistency doesn't register in any of our players' minds

All BD batsmen had hard time today finding the gaps and rotating strikes. Even Tamim was struggling. This is the same story for our bastmen. Both Shakib and Tamim did not last long after getting their 50s. It is pure batting practise and occassion for some players to increase their stats! Shameful!!
