Car problems
i haven't seen many car threads in here but i'm sure some of us having problems with our cars and we can take some expert advice from the fellow members.
Well, let me start,
Recently compressor of my car AC died so i had it changed the whole thing with a new dryer as well. My car is pretty old lancer 95.
But even with the new system i have noticed, while at high speed, white cold smoke coming out from the Ac ventilator. I don't know why and i'm looking for solutions. This is exactly what happened before my compressor died.
But if i reduce the speed or stop, then i don't see the white smoke anymore.
any solution? what could be the problem here?

actually that white smoke is a good thing. that means your new compressure is working fine. when it will become old you will see that white smoke less...
Unless u can smell something weired i think you are ok nothing to worry about here

thanks for your reply.
i don't get any smell though but it happened very often last time and my compressor died. So i'm quite tense about this situation as this repair works are quite expensive here.

Good thread Sunny.
Here's my question:
I recently started seeing the (!) sign appear when I break very hard. It's the sign of hand-breaks, and I was very surprised to see it appear for normal breaks. It doesn't appear all the time - only the times I break really hard.
Anything to be concerned about?

Kabir, That is strange probably electrical fault, first time I have heard something like that. Any way when is the last time you got your breaks checked, may be your break pads are wearing out.

My breakpads are quite new...max 8 months old. The last time it was checked was by Mazda Dealer mechanics, about 4 months ago.
If it's electical problem, I should be worried about it - correct?

Electrical problem can be a pain. But if I was you I would ask Mazda Mechanichs. As far as I know this (!) sign is for hand break only so I would be concerned if it comes on when I break.

Check break oil. If its ok, definitely go to Car Dealer / trusted mechanics. Take it (warning) seriously.

Called Mazda. They're saying that it's either a Break Fluid Flush (recommended every 2 years), or the break pads.
I've driven the car for only 9 months now, and so I don't know if the break fluid flush was done. I'll give that a shot. If that doesn't work, then the pads. I don't anticipate that the pads will need replacement, as I'm sure that they're completely new (checked recently).

Kabir Bhai i think u drove u r car when u had u r hand break on is that right? at least one time or more? let me know. i might have a clue but i need that answer...
BTW Sunny bro that was very strange that u r last compressor had white smoke coming out before it died... may be its true then prodeep jolia uthey sheshbar moriber torey (or something close to that)... Normally when u buy a brand new car u usually see that white smoke and it gets really cold really quickly...
U can also take it back to the mechanic shop were they installed u r new one. normally all shop have at least 30 day warranty...

MAZDA is the worst one in the jap models to have problem with elec stuff... and its most expensive to fix mazda too as any little thing they have to do, they have to do it after getting the engine down...

Yup, that may have happened when we bought the car 9 months ago. I did it once, for a short distance. My wife did it once, for almost 3/4 km.
Please tell me I'm not screwed

That's true...the last bit only.
However, I love driving this one...for a 2001 car, I was surprised to get 11.5 km per litre of gas. Now that I started driving a little less reckless, I am shocked to get 12.5 km per litre!!! That was totally unexpected.
In 45 litres, I go over 550 km!

No no u r not your Hand break may be... I think u need to tell u r mechanic about that. They just need to fix/adjust the hand break thing which may have been screwed when u guys drove it while it was on... normally with your hand break on the rear breaks gets on which is cylinder kind, but it doesn't have enough power to keep it tight while u r in D. so when u were Driving it was trying it tighten the cylinder breaks and with that fraction it might have screwed the sensor or something. so let u r mechanic have a look at that. I might be totally wrong but my exp with this prob says that.
BTW i worked as help desk at a sears Tire shop(part time during Student life) where they would fix cars and i have spent hrs with the mechanics to see what was going on what cause what problem...

Can we change the title to "Transportation problem" instead?
Now here is my transportation problem.
To reduce fuel cost I started using my bike more. But there is basically two problems,
a) When I paddle, it makes weird squeeking sound. What should I do?
b) Plus its to tiredsome to ride, can I convert it to hybrid?

a) tela mathai tel dao. Everything will work fine. You'll get a phat paycheck.
b) make Giashuddin kochi your role model. You will have electricity from thin air. Rides will not be tiresome at all. No fuel cost as well.

I should have said Audrey Hepburn's "Roman Holiday". Then you would say 18.
