New Front Page Article: Back for good? Ashraful in 2012, an Interview by Abu Choudhury
Once again our Abu Choudhury gives us a brilliant article in this interview with Mohammad Ashraful
Back for good? Ashraful in 2012, an interview
Abu Choudhury
At his best, he is one of the world’s most exciting batsmen, at his worst his nonchalant style and underachievement is symptomatic of the malaise of this fledgling Test nation. Abu Choudhury speaks to former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful as he prepares to join the national team for a Twenty20 tournament in Zimbabwe.

Loved it. Thanks abu2abu!
All the best for ashraful. Liked his positive mindset. Although technique correction excuse for falling stike rate didn't make sense. He liked Law because he didnt care for technique, that shows he never liked changing his style.
Anyway, wish him all the best.

Good luck to Ash. If RP can also give him the respect and love he needs to perform, he could be a match winner.

Very good read. Thank you Abu2abu.
There is a small mistake in the article I believe. It should be Rainhill CC instead of Rainham CC.

Very nice article. Loved his insights on the young players. Not surprised to see him picking out Anamul, Mominul, and Abul.
Ash should just try to play natural game. It should help him that he's coming in to a team that had good success recently. It will
also help that the batting is not reliant on just him now. There are other guys who can play their part. So he should just focus on playing freely. Best of luck to him.

“I started out as a legspinner, but in around 2006 I decided to switch to offspin and it turned out really well. I bowled a bit of medium pace when I was captain in the T20 World Cup [in 2007]. It’s much harder to land the ball in the same spot when you’re bowling legspin, sometimes I used to bowl really well and sometimes not so good. It’s much easier to control your bowling as an off spinner. It’s not a big deal for me; I bowl all sorts in the nets!”

See, if anyway Bangladesh can benefit, so be it. Doesnt matter, if Ashraful finds his destructive batting form once again, let him be in.

Grown man need love to be a professional athlete is a bit ironic but you hit right on the money here.
Man, your observation each time makes me that much more confident about your ability in coaching a BD team (any). I wish Ian was back to BD.

Very nicely written article. All the best for Ash.
TigerEz; even an old man needs love... And there are different ways of showing love ... Ash needs to be accepted and loved by the team, fans for a while to make him feel comfortable. He had been un justly subjected to excessive criticism and hate for last couple of years. Let him have the right conditions to make a grand come back... That's the best for the team, if we get back a consistent Ash...
