Squad: Shakib Al Hasan (capt.), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Litton Das, Mominul Haque, Mehidy Hassan, Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Abu Jayed, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Shafiul Islam

Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been named among the standbys for the two Tests in the West Indies next month, after he had been sidelined with a toe injury recently.

Allrounder Mosaddek Hossain, who had played the first Test against Sri Lanka at home earlier this year, was also among the standbys.

Why did Shafiul and Rubel get called up? Also, stupid of them to not take Ariful as a pace all-rounder given his great form in BCL with both bat and ball. Should have kept Nurul out as well and used Mosaddek.

Abu Jayed definitely can but the other pace options are horrendous. We will rely a lot on Shakib and Mehidy to take wickets.

I am looking forward to see how Walsh utilizes his bowlers this time. WI is his country, he should know the condition pretty well, He knows what to do to be successful in those grounds. If he fails to deliver here, he will fail everywhere

Rubel, Rabbi, Rahi...all club level bowlers. Shafiul is the standout and he’s just mediocre.

Worst squad picked since I’ve been here. The selections since the last Aussie outbid have been getting worse and worse. And when you think it can’t be dumber it shock lashes you.

Dont understand why they didnt pick Shahid. He was doing really well before he got injured. Even Roy was better than Rubel. Rabbi is decent to be honest. He did ok last time we visited NZ if I can recall correctly. But Rubel?

The bowling, pacers especially, horrific. Mosaddek out but shanto all of a sudden gets picked, he's performed but mosa has earned his place...nurul keeps popping in and out of the squad, wonder if that means they're looking at Liton as a specialist opener?
