Alok Kapali
Saghir Hossain (Wk)
Abdur Razzak

Ehsanul Haque is neglected once again, while Kapali's City Club link seems to be too strong to neglect him for non-performence.

I don't have much of an idea about this UAE team and the selection of Khulna stadium for these 2 games made me wonder about how seriously the board is taking these 2 matches. However, upon revising the line-up, I've to admit we're fielding a very strong team to do the task.

Win or win, I'm curious to see how well Masri has recovered.

Why Polash didn't get a call up for playing against UAE ?? As far as i know he is the fastest bowler in BD at the moment !!! He is doing pretty good job in the league matches!

I think it is easily explainable why this A team has as many as six national players. For Rajin, Abir, and Tushar, their club is out of the league, so they need some practice matches before the national camp starts. For Mashrafee and Aftab, they need practice matches after coming back from injury and sickness. For Abdur Razzak, he is not considered a regular member of any national side, and thus deserves most to be in the A team. Don't think the board is too worried about the strength of the UAE team, they just want to assess some players before the national camp starts on the fourth of February.

They should have selected Tamim Iqbal and left hand allrounder Saqibul Hasan from under 19 team !!!!!!!! They have just selected Shahriar Nafees, Rajin and Tushar without any special purpose !!

That's ok. But they should have selected Tamim Iqbal and left hand allrounder Saqibul Hasan from under 19 team instead of Sahriar and Alok Kapali !!!! Alok has been kicked out allready from national team ! Shahriar has proved himself as a good left hand opening batsman.

U/19 team is already set to play two matches with UAE at Bogra on the 23rd and the 24th. After that, don't see any reason to drag any of them to Khulna, when it is important for them to stay together as a team and to prepare for YWC in Lanka.

But I agree with you that some other youngsters should have been given chances on those occassions in places of Abir and Kapali (my choices would be Nazimuddin and Marshal Ayub).

No, the Abedin that is working under De Winter as the asst. coach of U/19 team is Nazmul Abedin Fahim, has no relation with Nannu.

National team trainer Stuart Karpinen suggested that Mashrafee could not bowl more than three overs at a stretch and needs at least an hour’s rest after each spell.

New Age

Will he be ready for the Lanka series?

Anyway, BD-A should include both of the other two frontline pacers, Shafaq and Robin, in the playing eleven to avoid suffering from any accident.

Soo.. Ashraful has already taken himself above the level of A-Team?

Otherwise... I see some proven national team members in the squad.

alok was proably chosen because the national selectors and the coach want him back in the national side.so they are giving him as much exposure as possible.

The problem is that they can try only one tearaway at a time. Robin probably has more controll on the newball and got more wickets in crucial matches and thus given priority over his ex-Indira KC teammate.

I am pretty optimistic that we gono win against UAE with ease, after looking back at our previous performance against them.
