ESPN-Star clears Ctg Divisional Stadium

SPORTS REPORTER

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is facing problem to fix the date of the proposed Tri-angular tournament this winter.

BCB has planed to host the Tri-nation series also involving Zimbabwe and Kenya at the later part of this year but India kept mum about the Bangladesh's tour at that time which left the hosts in dilemma to announce the schedule.

Bangladesh supposed to visit India in October but the neighbouring cricket giants postponed the series as it clashes with ICC super series.

The board is waiting for India's consent about the tour and BCB President Ali Asgar Lobi, MP, who is now in Khulna will contact the Indian board on his return to Dhaka to finalise the date.

ESPN-STAR SPORTS

The visiting inspection team of ESPN-Star Sports has cleared Chittagong Divisional Stadium to cover international matches.

They expressed their satisfaction over media facilities after being ensured of all facilities by the Bangladesh Cricket Board officials on Sunday. The ESPN-Star delegation has cancelled their today's scheduled trip to Chittagong.

The telecast right owner of international events in Bangladesh which earlier found the media facilities of the divisional stadium faulty during India's visit in last year, revealed that they were convinced about the progress of the stadium.

It may be mentioned that BCB has a plan to host the matches of proposed Tri-nation involving Zimbabwe and Kenya this winter.

A two-member ESPN-Star Sports team comprising Deepak Gupta and Saeed Izadi are now in Dhaka, also visited the renovated Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, on Sunday.

They also stated their satisfaction over the proposed media and other facilities of the stadium. The inspection team discussed possible camera position, commentator seating arrangements and other media set ups.

"The proposed plan and other facilities are really exciting , Gupta said.

The team will visit Shaheed Chandu Stadium, Bogra which waits for ICC approval.

It will probably be wise for us not arrange this tournament this year, just to be in the safe side for Champions Trophy. Hypothetically, if Kenya wins all matches all the way to final, they may move above us. Why risk it!

If am sorry to sound like a chicken, but I am being realistic here.
