with the electricity crisis, we can't afford matches under floodlight. and west indies don't have flood lights in their stadiums.

Do you currently live in BD by any chance? You know how much of an energy crisis there is. Day night matches at the moment would be a complete waste of electricity.

not just that, match times were scheduled so it wouldnt be that huge of an inconvenience to the other tv watchers in prime tv viewing countries. any later start would have meant, missing out of "prime time" slot and night would have meant that it would be day time out in india/pakistan/bangladesh/srilanka zone hence most would be at work (thats normal assumption, reality maybe something else) hence huge TV viewers would be missed out

Bad electricity management by previous govts.

Lets hope CTG can solve this soooo critical issue in Bangladesh. Electricity builds a nation, and until we have light bulbs in every little village huts in BD, we won't harness our full potential.

For more info, watch Swades :P

I remember when I lived in Eskaton, most of the time there was a day night match, our lights would go out for 20+ mins. From my Veranda, I could only look at the eastern Horizon and the Floodlit stadium...

we need a better, more energy efficient source build up in bangladesh for such a country like this, in my house, we use a 23 watt bulbs everywhere to conserve energy instead of 100 watt bulbs, but it gaves the same amount of light as the 100 watt bulb, is there such a bulb/system in bangladesh... the bulbs are call "compact flourescent bulbs"?

Default .....

Had we Day-Night matches played in Dhaka, then most people sitting at home couldn't have watched the game (no electricity) while other who would have electricity would have had gotten this following message:

"Procharey bighno ghotar karoney ei muhurtey amra aajker khelati ekhon shomprochar kortey parchi naa. Onugroho korey opekhkha korun. Prochar pabar shathey shathey amra apnader niey jabo Shohid Chandu Stadium'ey."

Wills Mini World Cup.....thankfully my Baba had a AC Box/Box/VIP all of these booked from his office, or else I'd have missed the whole darned series - no electricity in Dhanmondi for sometime!!!!!
