I grew up in that area Beamer bhai! from 1970-89! My 'mejho mama' and his family once lived very close to the 'Kali Mandir'!! We livd across from the Shiddheshwari School Maath (ground by the Shiddheshwari Mashjid) where actually Ashraful got discovered...of course a lot after my time there! Very emotional and good energy place Beamer bhai! Back then in the 70s that area had decent amount of trees and 'pookur' or dighi' in that area! Night time, it felt like night time, although you are still in the middle of that vibrant city!!!
I used to be known as 'Bhotoo Bhombol' in the 70's in that area, you parents might have heard of me! I was the very fat kid in the neighbourhood! In my early childhood I had a problem....I used to throw rocks at crows and people! People didn not like that very much.
I also believe there are jinnies (jiniah) on some of those big old trees in that neighbourhood! Lot of people talk about something real bad happanning in a strange house in there!

I grew up and still live in Siddeswari Beamer and Javed bhai, barring the 6 years in Sydney!!
Where did u grow up Beamer??
I live very very close to Kali mondir, next to Anarkoli Market. The second house from Siddeswari Boys School. When we moved here in 1991, Siddeswari was a great place to live in, not so much anymore.
The Eastern Housing behind my house was still under construction, so was the Anarkoli Market. We used to play badminton, football in the market yard and i learned to ride my bicycle in the space in between Mouchak and Anarkoli market. Those days were very full of tranquility and serenity.
We used to have fights with the "Eastern Housing" boys for any excuse actually, cuz they were new to the "para". They were barred from "tanki mara" to girls outside Eastern Housing and used to cope sh!t from us. Then they ganged up and barred us from entering thier housing block.......... After a while, it was all good!!! Lolz, good old days.....
Now its a total chaos and i cant wait to move out of this place.

Grew up in Moghbazar. But our current house is in Banani...
Btw. This time when I went to Dhaka, and I visited Moghbazar...it looked just like Manhattan - narrow streets with tall buildings...you'll need to look up to see the sky.

So did I.We actually lived in moghbazar, Dilu Road since the 80's.
Just recently we moved to Gulshan. But ya I know, the eskaton skyline is amazing is u get the chance to look at it from a 18-20 floor roof.
Ey shei oitihasik Dilu road.....my childhood spent here.
