Default A Few Questions.....

I have been having a few questions in my mind which have been discussed by the BCites a number of times. Yet I am again asking the questions to know if some of them are answered by the appropriate authority yet.
  • What is the condition of the Academy? How much time will it take to be fully operational? When will it move to its new campus with full facilities?
  • What is BCB's plan to groom up new players?
As far as I know still no long term plan is set.
  • What is the progress of forming regional boards?
Mr. Kamal promised to finalize it by April, 2010. Any one knows about the progress?
  • After the failure of pacer hunt program, what is BCB's plan to find new pace bowers from root level? Also what is BCB's stand regarding the spin bowlers searching operation?
  • After the appointment of new curator from abroad, when would we see new sporting wickets deployed around the country?
  • Why the fitness of the bowlers are so poor? Why do we see so many injuries in that dept? How does BCB ensure the accountability of the psysio?
  • How BCB is planning to enhance coaching, training, fitness facilities in the regional level?
  • When will we see the new bowling coach?
  • Is there any plan for forming a bowling academy?

Until and unless BCB addresses these questions and find appropriate answers, I see no long term development for our cricket.

Cricket is like any other business these days. It generates a lot of money. So unless you invest enough money here, you will not see it giving good return.

every place has its own characteristic pitches and conditions, it is wrong to thing that pitches in australia is the ideal every other country has to look up to. subcontinental pitches will be batting pitches with some turn, that's how it should be. nothing annoying about it.

now if every country started importing soil from australia and started making perth type wickets, that would be really annoying.

From what I heard -

Residential hostel, including a gym, for academy and A-team players has been built.

Shakil Kashem has been appointed as the academy chief. Board of directors include Lipu, Badsha, Raqibul Hasan, and few other prominent BCB members.

Academy head coach, Ruwan Kalpage, is currently with the national team as the fielding coach. I guess he will return to academy once BCB find a permanent fielding coach for the national team.

BD needs many coaches here, if they are to be 25% better for the 2011 WC which is just over 1 yr away. But, bear in mind that the other better teams are also trying to improve 25%, so it is an uphill task, Foremost, they need a pace bowling coach ASAP, or BD will suffer defeat after defeat even if they score over 300 runs. Many countries have won matches because of good bowling.

I have a question, will we have enough space to play cricket at all?

People who are arguing about what sort of pitches we need should remember the average height of our players. In fact, we should make pitches that do not produce deliveries above knee height. In this way we will be able to compete to our strengths and the opposition will have backache.
