Default Shakib has Chickenpox!

http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig...php?nid=138362

Shakib may be out for a while. He will not be sent back but allowed to infect rest of the team. But Tamim is likely to play the 4-dayer if he does not develop rashes and a fever. WHO is watching the situation intently. (শেষ লাইনটা আমার বানানো।)

I wish Shakib a speedy recovery. Hope he gets better before the 1st test and makes sure Imrul catches it one day before the 1st test.

Chickenpox can be quite painful when the infected person is not a child.

I wonder why the board does not have a strict policy that players have to take certain vaccines. It's never too late to implement these policies. As professional players travel to different parts of the world and get exposed to different types of environment, it is always better to be on the safer side.

I was thinking about that. Specially if contacted in adult life. It not only more severe but takes longer to bounce back. I wonder if the rest of the gang had chickenpox earlier in there life! If not, be aware that it is very contagious. In the next two weeks, those who didn't had it will certainly catch it. This means that they are out of the Lords. It is time to plan for Old Trafford.

I was 13 when I had it. But it wasn't that bad. I was good within 2 weeks time (as far as I remember). Hoping for something similar to Shakib.

Nowadays with proper meds and nourishment, the primary problem with chicken pox will be one of the physical appearance and contagion. Let him get a week of rest and then work himself back into fitness on the Lion's match. He needs to bowl - here he won't get wickets by turners - he has to pull a Vettori and work on his flight and change of pace. The Surrey highlights showed very flat trajectories.

no big deal! insha'Allah he will recover soon.

what i am interested to see is how Bangladesh team pulls off without him! it is NEVER about one man and one man alone. in order to win it has to be a team effort. although he plays a major role in every department of our game, I am interested to see if we are to play First Test without him, can we even drag it past day three?

busy summer awaits him anyways, he soon has to join county duties right after international duties too..so it is his internal body response to take a little break?

I hope the rest of the team does not get infected, but these guys should have had chicken pox when they were kids, once you had it, you are immune to it.
I hope the management is smart enough to ask each guy if they had it as kids, and the rest who did not have it, to be completely isolated for 10 days minimum.
He will not feel well for 2 weeks minimum.

May be a blessing in disguise. Some forced rest may be good for the body and the soul...as long as he fully recovers 3-4 days before the first test!

Wow now its Shakib. We are such an unlucky nation of all the nations. I hope he does not infect anyone else in the team.

lmao its really funny how our best players get sick/injured one by one and i see people saying "blessing in disguise" REALLY ? We will be left with no players and then these people be like "blessing in disguise" we escaped another humiliating defeat

It makes sense if bangladesh was anywhere near teams like india or Aussie where if Sachin doesnt play M Vijay gets a go, which might be a blessing in disguise because he has been in terrific form including most indian players and its hard to replace them and so young players get relatively low exposure. But for a team like bangladesh C'mon we all know our chances to do well gets down to 40 percent if both tamim and Shakib doesnt play which is NOT at all a blessing in disguise.

but i do appreciate the fact that other players need to step up in their game and have more responsibility.

It is true that board should take measures to vaccinate the players.....but then again the vaccination for chicken pox is qiute weak..it doesnt have much effect on the person who is taking it. No matter, how many times you take it, if you come across the chicken pox's germs, you will catch it...so, ultimately, its vaccine is useless.

No, don't worry...Tamim Iqbal is playing the test series, along with the last warm up match (according to Prothom Alo), as long as hed oesnt get infected by Sakib.
