I want to see Pont continue, because he has not got enough time with the team and he seems to like communicating with people. He has a good background working with some good pacers of the world. Should be an asset for us as a bowling coach.
But at least some of his attitudes just echo that of JS(e.g., we do not expect to win because of our low ranking) and I doubt if such attitude will take us forward, if he is the main man planning for the team.

Well then, he is the first casualty of the management team.. though, I think it was most likely due to our management team offering some shorter term or lesser money.. which happened with Champaka. He should've been kept and given the opportunities to develop our young pacers.
Nevertheless, all the best to him...No doubt he has/will have better options elsewhere than our board full of morons!!

Well guys, don't panic. Our coaching staffs are one of the highest paid in the world. There are plenty smart coaches out there. Whatever happens it would be great for BD. Our cricket has advanced and we have plenty of very good players. We have Salahuddin, Nannu as the assistant coach. We need one very good fast bowling coach and one great head coach.
In short, if something doesn't stay with you life, may be, it doesn't belong to you.
May be far greater things waiting for you. I am hopeful because our cricket community, including former players, spectators, even house-wives are so knowledgeable, unfit players/coaches will not last..

Sad that Ian is leaving,he could make Shafi,Rubel better.
Seems like Lotus will be our new batting+bowling+fielding+head coach.

‘Currently, we are only negotiating the deals of fielding coach Julien Fountain and bowling Coach Ian Pont. Its seems Fountain will continue till the Australia series, but we have to sign a new deal should we want to keep Pont until that period,’ he said.

Lotus might even have the nerve to make Shakib coach as well.

Well, Ian Pont is not the end of the world. We need to find a good replacement.

I have the same opinion. Whenever asked about the performance against big boys or tough situation, he came up with the same argument, e.g., we are ninth ranked team, our bowlers are out of top 50 bowlers of the world, we have very bumpy long road, etc etc....

neither Ian or Julien should leave. they have done wonders with our bowling and fielding department. we are taking a step back if we let them go now.

It is good to let Shakib off captaincy, it will relieve some pressure. He will be offered captaincy again in a few years when he will be more than ready, Bangladesh will voyage into a new horizon then

I am glad to see him leave....the way Shafiul bowled in few games....was frustrating to watch..
But I like to keep JF, because of him, our fielding has improved substantially.

LOL you expected Shafiul to go all Mcgrath after a month's coaching?
And fielding was pathetic against SA, so sack Julien too.

If anything shined in the WC or in the NZ series is our bowling. So what is the logic behind letting Ian go?

No! The change brought in Rubel was remarkable. Shafiul was swinging it both ways and the mentality!! Rubel to Mills, Nazmul to McCullum! The fielding improved amazingly..... BCB recognize this please, and keep them!

I guess the logic is the same as those of the so called fans whose knee jerks quite frequently. One over and either the coach or player is put on pedestal to be either garlanded or stoned. They have very short-term blinkered views - they do not see the mid- to long-term picture of either improvements (in many cases) or deterioration (in some other cases).
