This is pure BS by BCB... First insist someone to take the captaincy then throw them away....very very bad decisions tbh.

Shakib Al Hasan and vice-captain Tamim Iqbal have been relieved of their leadership roles following the team's failure on the Zimbabwe tour.
Bangladesh Cricket Board's media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told bdnews24.com on Monday, "The step has been taken based on the report placed by the team's manager and selectors."
However, the names of the new captain and vice captain have yet to be announced.

Now who will be the captain.? Mushy or riyad(coz he was the captain of Habamoni) may be the contenders.

Yes, Sagar bhai, it is obbahoti/borkhasto, but in reality, it is a sacking.
Those are soft words used to recognise the contribution of Shakib as a captain.
Tamim, on the other hand, I would say, just got sacked.

Great decision. I didn't think BCB would have the balls.

WTF? Yeah strip captiancy off the only guys who has cemented his spot and handles pressure well. Did BCB think they lost because of poor captiancy? Its coz of spineless batting and below par bowling.

Great, just because we were part of Pakistan at one stage doesn't mean we have to follow their cricketing 'principle'.
despite all the stupid decisions BCB have taken over the years, starting from cancelling tests, cancelling series, inability to get tours abroad, this has to be amongst the worst decisions.
After giving someone captaincy for a year, you can't just come out and say we won't keep you as a captain. What confidence does this give to the other players? How can the next captain tell a player[mr. x] to behave when he knows that his own position is least guaranteed? There can not be any authority of the skipper if he is stripped at will. Well done BCB for kicking an injured man square in the nuts

These are the kinds of dramatic decisions which have ruined Pakistani cricket. This is no doubt a temporary decision. I can guarantee that within the next 6-12 months Shakib will be appointed as captain once more. But, in the process, the spirit within the team will have been badly damaged.

I don't know why but i am relieved to read this news. Too many unnecessary issues and problems were floating around the team and media. It was getting out of control. I think, Stuart Law also played a catalyst role here. This decision will certainly help Shakib and Tamim to get rid of too much pressure on them. Now they will be free to play their own game.
Now i hope BCB does not choose a sissy as our captain.

Great decision! Wait till the real debacle start.. On the other hand i feel good for poor Shak because now he doesnt have to carry the burden of bunch of loosers anymore.
And you think BCB got balls, i think they got two small size ghorar anda....BCB already taken hostage by people like Soitan totla..and HaBa selector and Soitan ChaCha...

I like this decision. I am a big fan of Shakib as a player but I didn't like his attitudes to handle media an press. Also, an introvert should not be a captain.

A blessing in disguise?
I welcome this decision made by BCB. Now Sak and Tamim will have their legs on the ground and got to focus more on their jobs (performance).
Prediction: Mushfiq as captain and Mahmudullah as vice captain?

Didnt see that coming at all.....
Okay I suppose it can be a good decision to remove Tamim from vice captaincy ATM considering his immature behavior & irresponsibility...
but why the hell Sakib???...Does all the faults lie on him because of our teams poor performance????
One bad series & Now Shakib is the villan!!!!!! the man led us to series victories against NZ & WI!!
Apart from Shakib I dont see any other better candidate for Captaincy(considering Mashrafe is not still match fit).....Very disappointed with BCB

I have seen BD play under Akram, Nannu, Atahar, Shumon, etc. Aside from Pilot's brief stint as skipper, never have I seen the team go through so much drama as under Sakib and Tamim.
I still think Sakib is a future leader. I still think Tamim's flamboyance both on and off the field can be harnessed for the good of BD cricket. But these two lack the maturity at this stage (which beggars the question, who does then?)
Mushy will probably be the next skipper. If you think about it, he has the best credentials to be our skipper, much better than Sakib's credentials.
And those who think captaincy was 'thrusted' upon sakib, it appeared a forced issue ONLY because Sakib made such a big deal about his 'tenure' or not having a 'say' about selection. For a kid who has many many miles to go to before becoming anything close to a world class cricketer, or even in the same stature as Pilot or Shumon, he should have just said thank you, I will do my best and shut up. The seeds of drama were right there; we just chose to ignore it.
