It looks like Mushrafee and Talha are on the verge of resuming their international careers... Anyone know if Sharif has made any progress?

Eventually I would like to see Sharif as first change pace bowling allrounder and he is heading to the right direction.
Mushfique is mediocre at his best in both departments. And Chacha would call it a day not fo distant future.

Keep it up, Sharif.

I see two notable omissions:

1. Abdul Hannan Sarkar
2, Alok Kapali

I am glad BCB dropped them.

Talha got picked without showing a good performance after coming back. This is a surprise.

A wise decision taken by the selectors.

On other note, Kapali shouldn't have been dropped.

Navarene,

As an India supporter, i am glad that both Hannan and Alok have been dropped, especially Alok.

Strange as it may sound, but he has always looked to be the most threatening BD player to me. His poor scores and eventual dropping is a good news for the Indian team.

They made it clear that focus is on Zimbabwe's tour of BD. They'll test Talha's mettle as 'Big Shak' breathing hot in his neck

I am surprised Mushfiq is in the team, I would rather see Nazmul or Raj in that team instead of him.

well he is a great player no doubt about it. but u cant hang him in the team when he continually fails to impress the selectors.

well nazmul is still being considered as a one day player. and as indian batsman are good at playing spin there is no need to carry so many spinners when he already have rafique and also rana in the team.

surprised, shocked and hurt to see nazmul not on the team.

it is understandable that enamul will just add to the indian batsmen's ease, but why leave out nazmul? that too for the useless piece of crap mushfique? even his run up pisses me off now (now this was just an expression guys, don't take it seriously and have a go at me ok?)...

see this is our problem...we drop players too often...and we keep the gadhas for too long...i think nazmul deserves a chance in the test side, at least as a 13th man if not in the first eleven...

i don't support talha's selection either - that guy hasn't done anything great

My eleven would be as follows:
1. JO
2. Nafis
3. Bashar
4. Rajin
5. Ash
6. Khaled Mashud (yes, at 6, since he's been scoring runs)
7. Rana
8. Rafique
9. Baisya
10. Talha
11. Masree

very balanced side...no need of playing aftab - he can have a seat at the bench for a moment...

playing an extra batsman will do us no good...besides rafique's there for that...so is rana...

i dont want to see mushfique's face on the internet right now...

as for the quickies, we need tapash no matter what, and we need three quickies in all - which is why i had to put talha in...nazmul would be a better choice though...

as for big shak, i always thought he's coming up, and i'd like to see him in the A side more often

Five specialist bowlers, it would be optimistic for Bd.

Batting performances of batsman have to direct the thinking in this way though.

Talha should wait for 2nd test if any of Tapash and Mashrafi miserably failed in two innings.

question of playing less than 6 specialist batsman should not arise!!!! it does not with any other test playing nation...

Mashud is a ok number 7, cannot be number 6.. Rana played at number seven in Abahani (a weak team)'s first match.. how can he be a test number 6???

Mushfiqur has 4 ducks this year, the most amount of anyone in international cricket. He's hardly taken a wicket, only good performance he made was one against England a year ago and a good spell against Hong Kong! Aftab and Rana are much better allrounders. We don't want bits and pieces players, he want good specialists. If the selectors ever pick 6 specialist batsmen, keeper and 4 bowlers then i'll be happy

They could have picked Sharif instead of Mushfiq. Sharif is having a great time with bat also. He just hit 28 runs in 9 balls few days ago. Plus his capability of bowling with the old ball makes him a much better candidate than Mushfiq.
