Unhappy Aftab scare for all-win Tigers

Bangladesh cruised past Scotland by 7 wickets in their last World Cup warm-up today (Friday)at the 3Ws Oval in Barbados to take an all-win record in preparation games into the tournament proper. But the victory was somewhat marred by concerns surrounding key batsman Aftab Ahmed who suffered an apparent muscle injury in the waist while batting.
Aftab had gone in after Bangladesh had lost opener Shahriar Nafees Ahmed for a duck with the score on 7 while chasing 153 to win. Before another run had been scored the other opener Tamim Iqbal (7 off 17) was also walking back to the dressing room. Aftab however steadied the innings with the ever-dependable Shakib Al Hasan (45 off 55; 6x4) but on 19 (26 balls; 2x4) he tried to turn for a two but collapsed on to the pitch in agony and had to retire hurt.
“The medic at the ground saw him and he has been given two pain-killing injections. He will be going for an MRI tomorrow morning and then we will be able to know the nature and extent of his injury,” informed Bangladesh team manager Ali Asif Khan when contacted over phone.
“The injury happened when I turned for that second run. The pain was excruciating and I couldn’t move. But now I’m feeling a lot better,” said Aftab after the match.
This is a real concern for BD Team ahead of the big tournament.

This is nothing. We will see a fine innings of 58 from 45 balls against INDIA.

Some of our fellow members were praying to God for the injury of Golla. Either they didnt pray sincerely or God did not understand clearly? Now take this news.

Bhai ebong boonera-shob,
Any latest on Aftab's injury...
He must have had a MRI by now and they should know the extant of the injury.
Tigercricket.com has no update on this as yet...what is the point of spending millions on such an website which seems to have no regards for millions of anxious fans...

No! no! no!!! This is the last thing we needed! I hope this isnt like the last world cup when mashrafe had to leave south africa and couldnt play. So far he's still in the West indies so hopefully he'll be fine.

I checked TC and other possible sites, but could not get any news. We have to wait a bit, till it appears in the news.

The only concern however for the Tigers was the injury of middle-order batsman Aftab Ahmed who sustained a muscle injury in his waist while batting against Scotland in the second and final warm-up one-dayer.

The dashing batsman had an MRI on Friday morning but the report was not yet received. It was however learnt that the team management was hopeful about his recovery before the main campaign starts.

I heard they are already working on whom to send as replacement. And TI is one of the candidates. But thats just from the grapevine .... lets hope Aftab doesn't need to be replaced.
