Default Who is responsible for the condition of our fielding?

Our fielding in the last 1 year or so has been rubbish. Any other word wouldn't be appropriate.

But who is responsible for this?

-Fielding coach?
-Team members not taking fielding seriously in which case what is the coach doing?
-Selectors not factoring fielding
-Team tactics not correct?

Today Mosharraf and Taskin were fielding IN THE DEEP in the latter overs. Batting and bowling is important, but fielding is equally important. We need to bring in better fielders and get a better coach. Richard Halsal is not the answer

Bad enough our tail can't even bat to score 5 runs, they can't even take catches either

also, not only where we dropping catches, we weren't even attempting them. There were so many times that the fielders weren't able to decide who should take the catch.

Taskin-Mash did it in the 47th, Mosaddek did it in the 49th over.

Also was a similar scenario in the middle overs though it wasn't easy.

its the players... those werent tough chances not taken.. maybe Riyads. But in the last 4 matches, the mistakes that are visible are quite basic and elementary mistakes. Tells you they arent commiting fully on the field and/or not taking the practice drills seriously

And that is where Haturi and Halsal needs to take responsibilty. They should report to the board atleast, and knowing Papon, he would pressurize the players. If you look at Mash, Shakib, Tamim, they are senior-most yet putting the effort on the field.

I think Haturi needs to be strict about fielding. A catch drop is criminal at this level. We dropped 3, failed to take 2 catches due to miscommunication.

Other than Shabbir everyone sucked so bad today.

Shabbir was always good fielder so it shows something. Maybe these guys not working hard enough

A year ago with a similar team (besides Mosh) we were electric in the field, you don't just 'forget' how to field

Tamim, Shakib, Shabbir, Nasir, Soumya, Riyad are our good fielders. Mash is decent. Rest are garbage. You can hide 1 bad fielder...push em off to third man or square leg. but when u have like 4-5 to hide.. there is no way around it

Fielding quality was reasonably decent in the recent past-at least we were able to hold on to most catches.

But off late-terrible. Lack of energy, and then dropping those crucial catches. Not just fielding, even fast bowlers have gone back to Jurgensen era.

They made six into a wicket and we dropped 3 sitters today.

That itself is a different section

Both I believe are exclusive. Poor wicketkeeping can let you down too.

Taskin is by far the worst fielder in the side..Been terrible over a long period of time. MH rubel is also rubbish. Nasir, SS even Mustafiz and Sunny were missed. We also had Litton keeping for a few games didnt we? better than Mushy.

Bar BPL, is this the fielding standard in domestic games?

Our fielding seems to suffer every time there's a break in int'l games.

What I said in another thread.

4. What a collapse that was. It's mind boggling - 6 wickets 17 runs in 39 balls

5. Now the real culprit - fielding... we can't keep dropping catches like this and expect to win games. Fire that damn fielding coach. I refuse to settle for mediocre fielding. What a waste!

Fire Halsall and bring back Mohammed Salahuddin. Spinners also need his guidance.

Fielding in BPL too is sub-par, obviously mainly from the locals.

This goes to show that no matter how much our structure has improved, we don't have proper coaches to help us out in domestics

Why don't we even have a proper spin bowling coach when we are a subcontinental side?
