Default BCB to change name again

According to a NewAge report published today, BCB may yet again change it's name to "Cricket Bangladesh". Perhaps, another Aussie influence or to commemorate the historic win
Quote:
The BCB president also informed before the election the BCB can change its name to Cricket Bangladesh and can have a brand new logo.

‘Having a new and modern name will inspire us. Everybody was in favour of changing the BCB name and we want to change with time and it should be through performance and the new name as well,’ said the BCB president.

So we will have to get used to calling CB, instead of BCB, this will be hard.

Sometimes they have nothing to do constructive, so .... changing name may be one of their constructive deeds

BCCB>BCB(91-96)>BCCB(96-2001)>BCB(2001-2005)>CB(2005-?)

ps: The changing events occurred during this time frames.

I think I heard this news somewhere about six months back. :duh: I think Bangladesh cricket would have been a better name than Cricket Bangladesh.

Typcial of our cricket board.

Don't worry about the whole world trying to rid us of test status and trying to rectify this by bringing in better facilities, bringing in batting and bowling coach.

No our board see it more important to try to change its name and create a new logo. If they were selling replica tops you could even justify it as a marketing ploy to create more revenue, but our board doesnt even sell replica cricket jerseys.

Our cricket board never stops to amaze me!

Cricket Bangladesh would be good if they wanna change but I would say whtz rong with BCB as it sounds good and decent.

Why the hell r they bothered about changing name, do they wana copy the Australian's fully in every aspect. This is something which BCB is doing silly.

Nywaz, we cant do nything if BCB wanna chaneg the name but i hope that dont keep the new name as tiger cricket as it would look funny and some critics and ppl who are anti - BD would surely mock at us more given the condition when we get smashed in ODI's & Test Matches....

I would be in favour or CB than of tiger cricket

Since our players had good performance in England our BCB officials probably feels left out of the spot light. Thus they have opted to change name, logo and who knows what else. We don't need to change BCB but if they are going to anyway I rather go with CB than anything stupid like tiger cricket.

We Bangladeshis copy everything out there. To us superficial changes mean much more than substantive changes which we seem incapable of generating by ourselves if at all. Logos, name changes what the...? We really have way too much time on our hands. So the ACB changed its name to Cricket Australia, so of course we have to follow suit. Just like Raushan Ershad became "First Lady", Brigadiers and Jawans in the army are now "Brigadier Generals" and "Privates", in fact I have heard that they want to buy the PM a plane and call it "Air Force One". Pathetic.

I believe I found a reason behind the name change- Bermuda Cricket Board also goes by BCB. Now, since Bermuda going to play ODI's for at least next four years, our board is doing the right thing by changing the name to avoid confusion. Also, as I said before, it brings little more Australian flavor to our cricket (Cricket Australia)
