FIXTURES
5th may: BD A vs SA A
6th may: SA A vs WI A
8th may: BD A vs WI A
9th may: BD A vs SA A
11th may: SA A vs WI A
12th may: BD A vs WI A
14th may: Final
BD A ODI squad: Samsur Rahman (captain), Uttam Sarker, Nazimuddin, Rokibul Hasan, Marshal Ayub, Faisal Hossain, Nazmul Hossain Milon, Dhiman Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Alok Kapali (vice-captain), Dollar Mahmud, Nazmul Hossain, Talha Zubaer, Nabil Samad, Saqlain Sajib, Nur hoassain
WI A ODI squad: Travis Dowlin (capt), Adrian Barath, Lionel Baker, Darren Bravo, Odean Brown, Kirk Edwards, Imran Khan, Brendan Nash, Justin Guillen, Nelon Pascal, Shane Shillingford, Devon Smith, Gavin Tonge, Chadwick Walton
SA A ODI squad: Thami Tsolekile (captain), Ryan Bailey, Paul Harris, Colin Ingram, Rory Kleinveldt, Ethy Mbhalati, David Miller, Vernon Philander, Rilee Rossouw, Thandi Tshabalala, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Jonathan Vandiar, Johannes van der Wath, Morne van Wyk, Stiaan van Zyl.
Quote:
The South African A squad is the youngest that has probably ever been fielded particularly in the batting department but is an accurate reflection of form both in the SuperSport Series and the MTN40 this season. Players promoted to this level for the first time include Colin Ingram, Stiaan van Zyl, David Miller, Rilee Rossouw and Jonathan Vandiar. The latter two are in their first season out of the under-19 ranks while Miller is only one year older. Van Zyl and Rossouw both played for the emerging squad last winter as Vandiar would have done but for injury.
There is also a change in the leadership of this group with Thami Tsolekile being recognised for his inspirational captaincy that took the Lions to the final of the Standard Bank Domestic Pro20.
|
both SA A and WI A also play two four day FC games each before and after the tri-series respectively.

Excellent opportunity to develop some of our prospects. Not only NCL performers, but also some of the discards.

I'm overjoyed by the fact that we'll be playing loads of A Team cricket. With the NCL as crappy as it is, we need MORE A Team cricket to bridge the gap. I still dream of our A Team playing FC in India and/or SL to better prepare for the highest level.

Sure as fudge hope so bro! Until VERY recently, the BCB and other cricket matobbors thought that U19 and Academy cricket prepared our young guys for the highest level, even though they'd be playing OTHER U19 and Academy guys typically years away from International debut, except possibly in T20Is ... helLOW? ...

My selection for the A Team, List A.
Batting order:
1. Uttam Sarkar
2. Junaid Siddiqui Imroze
3. Shahriar Nafees
4. Shubhagoto Hom Das Chowdhury
5. Alok Kapali
6. Sabbir Rahman Rumman
7. Dhiman Ghosh (WK)
8. Nasir Hossain
9. Shubhashish Roy
10. Talha Jubair
11. Enamul Haque
Bench: Hannan Sarkar, Imtiaz Hossain, Mohammad Shahzada, and Nabil Samad.
XWK: Mithun Ali.
Note: No use wasting time on Hudmahs like Faisal Hossain Freakens, Tushar Imran and Nazimddin no matter what they do against crappy NCL bowlers bowling on dead pitches. NO emotionally weak, delusional drama queens like the ROK either. Add gutless Nazmus Sadat to that list! He was $hitting his pants facing STD before faking an injury and "retiring hurt", only to be miraculously OK exactly at the end of STD's spell. We need biologically correct MEN to play MEN'S cricket. Fudge them all!

SA is taking the series very seriously. It will be a good opportunity for our boys to perform against a world class team.

bd have alresdy declared the academy team and the A team for Fc matches.
so now have a idea of what the list A team for the triseries could be.
alok had poor FC form. but could be useful in ODI's.
may be we will see him back for odi's

How come Shuvagoto Hom is in academy team and not in the A team? Is there a better batsman in the recently announced A team than Shuvagoto?

Easy!! Rushing never helps. For once I want a 50 average BD player to be properly groomed. Let him come up the ranks.

We supposed to groom junior players in Academy for A team first, then national team
So, academy contains small letters, but A is with Capital ones..

Strong West Indies A squad to tour Bangladesh
Quote:
West Indies A have named a strong squad for their tour of Bangladesh, which includes two first-class games and a tri-series also involving South Africa A. Five players with international experience - Adrian Barath, Brendan Nash, Darren Bravo, Gavin Tonge and Lionel Baker - have been added to the squad which hosted the Zimbabweans till yesterday.
"The team played very well in the four-day match and the two T20 matches against Zimbabwe in Grenada," West Indies A coach Henderson Springer said. "This tour of Bangladesh is another opportunity for these young men to build on what they started.
"We will have some players joining the team who have already played at the international level - Nash, Barath, Bravo, Tonge and Baker - and the team will be able to benefit from their experience and knowledge. I am sure everyone will be trying to create an impression and get elevation to the highest level of the game."
The tour begins on May 4 with the tri-series at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. West Indies A will stay back after the final on May 15 to play two four-day games against the hosts at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan in Savar. The first game begins on May 15 while the second starts on the 21st.
Squad: Travis Dowlin (capt), Adrian Barath, Lionel Baker, Darren Bravo, Odean Brown, Kirk Edwards, Imran Khan, Brendan Nash, Justin Guillen, Nelon Pascal, Shane Shillingford, Devon Smith, Gavin Tonge, Chadwick Walton

BD A team for oneday matches selected.
Quote:
The national selectors made wholesale changes when they announced a 14-member Bangladesh A squad for the first three one-day matches of the triangular series also involving second string sides from South Africa and West Indies.
Shamsur Rahman was named captain while Alok Kapali was made his deputy.
Besides opener Shamsur Rahman, three more players in Nazimuddin, Rokibul Hasan and Faisal Hossain survived from the four-day squad which is playing against the visiting South Africa A team.
Injured opener Junaed Siddiqui, Shahriar Nafees, Mehrab Hossain and Shahadat Hossain were the notable omissions from the four-day team.
The tri-nation tournament will kick off on May 4 with the match between Bangladesh A and South Africa A at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur and the final will be held at the same venue on May 13.
The selected players have been asked to report to Mirpur at 3pm today.
SQUAD

from the list
(Samsur Rahman (captain), Uttam Sarker, Nazimuddin, Rokibul Hasan, Marshal Ayub, Faisal Hossain, Nazmul Hossain Milon, Dhiman Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Alok Kapali (vice-captain), Dollar Mahmud, Nazmul Hossain, Talha Zubaer, Nabil Samad, Saqlain Sajib)
my squad will be
Uttam sarker
shamsur rahman shuvo
nazimuddin
alok kapali
rokibul Hasan
faisal hossain
dhiman ghosh
dollar mahmud
najmul hossain
talha jubaer
saqlain sajib
extra: nabil samad, marshall ayub, najmul hossain Milon
if milon or marshall played---they will replace uttam sarker and in that case opener will be najimuddin and shuvo
i think BCB is doing above excelllent job in selecting teams. all the teams (BCB academy, a team--4 day match, A team one day) all are great. selectors deserve A plus.
