ODI Test Matches?
http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/c...ry/424523.html
There must be nothing to do at these iCC meetings, so what they do is gather in a circle in smoke weed all day in Dubai and come up stupid ideas one after another.

Is ODI outdated?
Or is Tendy looking for a place in ICC?

cricman - need to ask BD-Shardul to be a fly in one of these meetings and see what they are putting into the hookah. Shardul is the closest, no?
If it were up to me, I would actually dispense with ODIs and keep Tests and T20s. But that is me - a pseudo-intellectual.

If you think I'm resistant to change, you got it all wrong homie...If anything, I'm the total opposite. If you read my posts you'll see I'm a strong proponent of T20 which itself embodies revolutionary change.
But come'on dude...this concept of ODI Test sounds ridiculous. It's one thing to iron out a few kinks here and there, such as introducing technology or tinkering with PP, but a total revamp of the format itself would be a total disaster. A test is a test, a ODI is a ODI, T20 is T20--they're all different beasts. We can't start mixing and matching. If we're gonna do that, while we're at it, why don't we introduce shat chara cricket and hadoodoo cricket as well

That's what I'd do too.
Either play ODIs or don't; but no half measures, please.

If you are anywhere following the ICCCT you would know better the importance and twist that involves in ODI which would be rare to find in T20. Most T20 matches as I observed in IPL and T20WC can easily be decided within first thirty overs if not after the first 20 when the batting team finishes.
But look at SA-Lanka, Ind-Pak, WI-Aus and most interestingly Eng-Lanka matches in recent Champion's trophy. Within 3 days time we had four memorable ODI matches.
Those who still question ODI's existence, format and boredoms in middle overs need to ask ICC how they should schedule it, not how to tweak it.
