Is this the match that propels Bangladesh
When the WC started in 1983, India won a total of 1 match in 2 WC. Against East Africa. India was a reasonably good side in 1983, but nothing special. When the second match against ZIM started, India was promptly 5/17, which became 6/77, 7/78, and 8/140. That was the last wicket to fall. Kapil Dev would score 175 in 138 balls and India will reach 266/8. India did not look back and won the Cup. This cup win produced a huge interest in cricket in India and India was on its way to become a cricket power.
I am hoping that today's improbably heroics from Shafiul's bat does the same for Bangladesh. (Interestingly, for us also wicket number 8 was the last to fall and things were looking dire.) If this gives the boys the belief they need to win consistently, all the near heart attacks and strokes would be worth it!

Two vital matches coming up. Qualification to QF is in our own hands and if you get there, all you need is three good nights to be world champions...but let's take it one step at a time.
Next match is against Holland and we should not slip up against them. A win with them will put immense pressure on England and should England lose, we are almost guaranteed a QF spot, unless Ireland pull off a miracle against South Africa.
I hope this game propels us and we keep on rising.

Yeah about that....probably not.
I didn't think we were the worst team in history when we gave up against the Windies, and now that we've won a match, I don't think some kind of Golden Age is afoot.
Following Bangladesh Cricket is great, plenty of steep drops, lots of twists and turns, and you know what else?????? Lots of high points.
This is a high point.

LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose to Netherlands. I'm pretty sure we won't, but this team is still not consistent enough. Getting there, but not there yet. In fact, far from it.

Looks like people are again charged up to dream about unrealistic things just like what they have been doing over the last two months or so (until the WI match).
Let's not bring another disaster please!

One match at a time lads. That's what our focus should be on.

I also don't think it is our time yet, but when IND and SL won theirs, no one thought they were really going to. For now, I'm content to watch and dream. Some dreams come true...
