Last heard, he was auditioning for a minor role in a bangla movie. He was seen near FDC gates with a cricket bat. The movie itself is the bangla version of hindi movie "Lagan" due out early next year. He ran into problem when the director was not happy with his batting or bowling. Apparently a well known actor with a penchant for villain roles beat him to the punch. No one has heard or seen him since then...

Good Question, but the answer is a mystory. He is definetely a better prospect than quite a few choker, chucker and talenter unachiever of the playing 11.

He had been the most unfortunate player of bangladesh team not to get the chances he earned.

I absolutely agree with you. He is the most unfortunate player who performed and dropped consistently.

Last time he was seen in Court, with a petetion to change his name from Rana to Ana removing the letter 'R'

The reason is Ashraful and Alok both have 'A' as the first letter in their name, which signifies the grade 'A', which is attached to talent and potential. The letter 'R' is more related to 'Retarded', 'Rejected', 'Replacable', etc.

Don't worry, pretty soon he will be back with the new name, new attitute and backed up with his strong past record.

MRana is realy a good player of limited techniqe. The best about him is his determination. He should definitely get some chance to show his performance.

Director didn't like because he is not fair skinned and also doesn't have smile like Ash or Kapali. also the nayika demanded Ash or kapali for their "talents". Nowadays nayika's are pretty demanding and materialistic. Hey Ash can join modeling with monalisa if he is super flop and can get bucks so does kapali, he can go to the land of south africa and start working for the " bidehsi" girls as "smily" models.
What can Rana do play in BD team and score 25 runs or take one wicket. Nayika's wont want it. Sad he will do another movie..."ami keno cricketer"

Gone for good, hopefully.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing him in the ODI XI in place of Razzak, Enamul is actually the one who should play.

Spitty, you will be disappointed. He will come back for sure. People thought rajin was gone for ever too. But he did bounce back. .... and rajin and rana both possess the same quality of overcoming everything with hard work and determination. on top of that rana was not out of the team becuase of lack of form or anything, he was out just because selectors prefered so called talented players. so, he will come back for sure.

I find Manjarul the opposite of Kapali.

Kapali - Luckiest off the field, unluckiest on the field.
Manjarul - unluckest off the field, luckiest on the field.

Off the field, Majarul will keep being neglected by selectors, while Kapali will be favored.

On the field, Kapali will continue to get out unfortunately while Manraul will survive by luck and play many more lucky innings.

Mahmood vai, I think search is not really working. Becuase I was looking for a old post of mine where I said

rana = 1/ kapali to mean the exact same thing

(even though beamer called it a fourth grade silly formula)

Whatever happens, I hope we will be lucky enough not to see him batting at #6 (or above) in future. If we don't, then our future is definately dark.

MI-R: Mission Impossible Rana. What can you do, when our selectors want to surround themselves with 'talented' labels? It is sad how easy these selectors forget about his recent past contribution. He is the only player who gets dropped after a superb performance with an excuse of pitch, climate, condition.......but now the talents are going nowhere, soon it will be show about Rana...again!

That boy was actually a talented one trying to pull a miracle in the national team. He could not perform because he was too tired from making this "lagan" movie although and the extra talent was too heavy for him to carry around.

MIR: Manjurul Islam Rana will be appearing in the latest summer blockbuster MI-3 who is also known as Tom Cruise to the audience.

I don't agree with people who compare Rana with Alok. If there is a choice between picking either Rana or Alok, it is always a logical choice to pick Alok. However, I do prefer Rana over Razzak.
