Mistake on my part. Sarkar is mostly picked on instinct - as in giving a go as the aggressive opening partner for Tamim (as backup). Obviously won't be consistent but if he can slog in PPs, then Tamim can play anchor role. That was my thinking, at least.

anchoring is not Tamim's ishtyle. we dont need a slogger to open. if we do than Zia is there. we need a proper batsman who can open. this aint no T20 cricket.

Did that in Asia cup to be fair. Zia sounds fair enough - but Shoummo can score bigger if he goes on too. Again, just instinctive, not based on stats etc. Asif might be better, I suppose.

Not as much as I would've liked to.
But my team is still better. I have covered all bases. Getting Mushfiq out of the way. Getting two specialist spinners, far more puritanical spinners than Razzak. Replacing Shak with Shuvo. Where you can't match consistency, at least match the skill level. Bringing in Reza, who is one of the best fielders in the team, and can share 10 overs with Shuvo and Mahmudullah while still being a pinch hitting threat.
This is a winning team.

Zunaid averages in the lower 20s in ODIs. You want to bat Shuvo at no. 6? Well, he averages less than 15 in ODIs. Farhad Reza? Seriously? This team looks weaker than our A team. Let alone 'winning team'.

Reza is underrated. Period. His action is far better than say a round shouldered Abul Hossain. He can hit too or block shots.
Junaid has a cool enough mind to start. He's great at the slips too.

no comment. Junaid is a great slip fielder? NO more dude! see his drop catch in the first test
and Reza can hit and can block too and action can buy you wickets?

This is what I would go with too. The only slight change I would make is swap the batting order of Riyad with Nasir, so Riyad comes in at 5.
I've chosen Naeem to play the anchor/stabilizer role that Imrul Kayes used to do. Naeem has a few advantages over Imrul; his offspin is more than useful in ODIs and he is also a better fielder, one of the best in the squad. I also believe he maybe able to "switch gears" and be more aggressive once set, which is something Imrul struggles to do.

It is pretty evident that Naeem will open or come one down since no note worthy opener has been named. And yep, they will ask him to play the anchor role.
And regarding Mushy, Riyad and Nasir batting order; I don't think they'll be a definite position for them. All depends on the match situation and Mushy's mind.

I dont see the point of putting Mushfiq up the order when he isnt in form. Id leave him at #7 because he can somewhat hit big.

+1, this really seems like the more ideal team. Might swap Zia and Nazmul maybe, but that's it.
