Saber Hossian Chowdhury for BCB President
The man we need at this moment to save our cricket from lutera gusthi is:
Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury
We need Sohel bhai and many others' fantasy to come true if we really want our cricket to exist and moves forward. Unlike Mr. Kamal, Saber bhai has a vission which would take us to our destination IMHO. I see no hope under Mr. Kamal's leadership rather kordomakto aakash er meghachchhonno maath. Mr. Kamal has failed to improve our cricket infrastructures, no activities in age group and A- team tours or activities, stagnant cricket academy, biasness in team selections - everywhere corruption and failure of current BCB administration.
Please join me who wants to see Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury as BCB president. If we fail to act now, we might not see Bangladesh to play international cricket (Test, WC, CT etc.) in future and rue for rest of our life.

I wholeheartedly agree.... here was a Bangladeshi with vision. If he stayed as BCB president from 1999 till today, we would have seen a wholly different Bangladesh in the world stage. I do not understand why he even needs to be in Hasina's good book to be BCB president..if he gets the position, even Madam Zia might keep him. In Bangladesh, it reflects well on the government if the cricket team does well, somehow.
I wonder what Saber bhai thinks about our cricket right now...can BC arrange an interview with him?

Why blame Loitta, when our players failed? Shakib got the team he wanted so I think it's pointless blaming loitta as he didn't play on the field it was our players.

Well, our team selection wasn't fair at all. Jahirul should have been selected ahead of Ash or Junaid. On the other hand, Junaid shouldn't be in the team due to his poor performance.
Look at the cricket structure - nothing has developed in Kamals era, rather we see different kind of corruptions - from foreigntours to ticket kelenkari. He even selects the team when we have a selection panel! Should I continue my friend?

As long as Hasina is in power expect BCB to do nothing to improve anything.

BCB is a Bangladeshi organisation. It will always resemble Bangladesh govt. Until the way Bangladesh govt run changes, BCB won't get any better- as simple as that. So why don't we say, "Saber Hosain Chowdhury for Prime Minister"? We know he will be better than khaleda hasina. I know we don't have the power to make that change happen. So everything else will remain as usual. Making Saber Hosain Chowdhury BCB president will only make little difference.

I ask Saber bhai every chance I get, he ignores it. I am not close enough to know what the real reason is. My guess, it's all about the connection and Loitta prolly reminds someone of herself more. Roton e roton chiney.

Joined. But lav ki? Sacking loitta? Come on, not going to happen. And also BNP will never appoint any BAL person either. Can anyone tell me how we are going to even try this? Don't tell me that we ll do one online petition. This thing doesn't work in BD which we saw very clearly when the petition to make Mccinns the head coach was attempted.

I was actually thinking...why not convert the NCL teams (Dhaka, Rajashahi etc. ) into franchises and sell them off...Once you privatise them, you can see the owners of the franchises automatically trying their best to better their players. Since divisions like Sylhet do not perform as well as Rajshahi for eg, they would be sold at a lower price. However, once the owners start development, possibilities are endless.
If I was the owner of Sylhet, here's what I would've done, out of my own interest:
1) Create better training facilities and hire competent staff across the board.
2) Pay cricketers good salaries & force them to train regularly in off season.
3) Get a good head coach.
4) Invite overseas teams such as Ireland A and Maharastra to play them, market the matches and generate revenue (stadium owned by us)
5) Create Sylhet fan base home and overseas and sell merchandise
6) Continously try to steal better talents from other regions.
7) Cry we are broke and get money off BCB.
Checks to ensure franchises look at long term player development etc:
1) Quota of two players having played less than 20 NCL games
2) Set number of rookies to be in the team of 25 or so players every year, with a certain number of games to be awarded to these rookies.
3) For every player developed by a franchise (as in, played first 4-5 matches with this club) the club gets rewarded by BCB in the following three years depending on their performances.
Steps to include this gets running:
1) Improve some ground facilities and sell the franchises at cheap rates with the understanding that the franchises are responsible for the development of every aspect of the teams
2) Make it lucrative by having T20 NCL competion at the end of season. Do not allow a DPL T20.
3) Set the ground rules regarding paying a minimum salary to all staff involved.
4) Decide on how the players get exchanged. I say similar to DPL rather than IPL auctions.
5) Decide on where subsidies will be the most helpful.
WHat do you guys think?

Tehson bhai, I had exatly the same experience, I spoke to Saber bhai a number of times about this whenever I bumped into him, but he didn't really show much interest in leading the BCB again for various reasons (I am guessing not least because he has bigger problems with our glorious leader).
Although I would love Saber bhai to reclaim this post, deep down I know, that will not happen in this political term for sure. Shame really.

The reason he needs to be in Hasina's good book is because the BCB president post is still very much political appointment. Our PM has a major say as to who will take over the richest and most prestigious sporting organization. Saber Choudhury is till date the best possible candidate for the post as he has the passion for the sports and has a clear idea as to what needs to be done with this organization unlike mr. Lotus Kamal who i doubt can even spell cricket properly.
Boishakhi tv had a 30 min talk show with him the night of the SA game. He correctly spelled out the reality of the board and current structure of our domestic cricket which shows the man knows his game.

Saber Hossain Chowdhury should forget and forgive others for greater interest of the country and his countrymen. Honorable PM Hasina should also forget previous personal clashes (if they have any) and appoint him as BCB President ASAP if she really loves the game.
Signed.

I want Lotus to move out after he's made sure the fund for the new stadium in Cox's bazar is in BCB's bag. I'm not sure how effectice Saber Hossain be since his fall out with Hasina. But he definitely was the best man that run BCB and was instrumental in our growth. But to be honest anyone is better than Lotua.....he is an idiot.

Question 1: does it have to be a politician? Why not a former cricketer? A CEO of a successful company?
