Naeem Islam, boy don't disappoint us!
As it stands already, he's played a great knock. Nothing legendary but great and solid.
101 (not out I beleive) in the BCB cup, and now 95* with his team in dire straits. This is what top level cricket is all about. He has single handedly injected competitiveness into this 4-day affair. Had his team been bundled for 200, regardless of how the national team would have fared, it would make this 4-dayer a drab affair at best, and a disgrace if the national team struggled.
Naeem (and Momin as well) have ensured that the veritable A team will post something near 300 and hopefully in excess to push the main team in this 4-dayer.
But here is the important question: will Naeem really make this count? He' sdone the hard work already. Our guys are used to getting the hundred and then getting out as if they've done there job. It is no wonder that we only have 2 scores in excess of 150 in our entire history. Naeem must have a hunger for runs.
Granted his side is already 6 down, and with tailenders, he might not get to score really big, but then he should remain not out. But I absolutely don't want him getting dismissed before he crosses 115 as that would indicate he was complacent with just a mere century.

Give him a chance in international matches, these matches don't mean anything significant. Even the likes of Roqibul or Ashraful can score a lot of runs in domestic cricket or against bowlers like Razzak. I hope naeem does well against international teams because I think he has potential.

I've always been a big fan of Naeem and I always felt he should've been given a decent run with the bat somewhere in the higher middle order. We should see if he can continue this form in the WI series, granted he gets selected.

Number 4 that's where Naeems needs to play. If given some time to settle in I think he's got what it takes to survive. I really hope this is beginning of bigger things to come from him.

not 2-3, he was never given a proper run at a proper place in the team. its fine to debut a bat at 7 or 8, but they should be moved up if they show competence.
Jahirul had a couple good seasons and now he's nowhere to be found. Hom, its to early to tell + he's only played a season of NCL. we've got to keep rolling the dice on potential talent.

He has done only 1/3 of the hard work.
First, getting runs under his belt to make a comeback in the team.
Second, if does return, score big to retain his place.
Third, repeat the performance. Show it wasn't just any sporadic good knock and you mean business.
I hope he scores the century today.

If he comes back, he should be batting up the order. Due to his nature of game, i always wanted him to bat up the order, but unfortunately some fans labeled him as Chokka Nayeem out of love and that reputation hurt him the most. For some unknown reasons, he was always pushed down and forced to slog uncharacteristically, by the team management, but they should have understood his game better than the fans.
But yes, he needs to continue his hard work and do well when he gets his chance. All the best.
NB: I have same opinion on Nasir.. he isnt at all a # 8 style / Tempo player. He failed miserably every time he faced typical # 8 situation. He needs time to get settled. His technique was impressive and should suit the top/middle order.

Though he has done a good job scoring 95, I'm a little disappointed that he couldn't add 5 more runs from his overnight score.
A century sounds so much better than what is still a half century !!!!!
Now, back it up with a good score in the second innings.

yes i'm a big supporter of naeem and have been since before he first entered the national side. no doubt he hasn't been given a proper run, he's a top order/middle order bat and was playing a #8 role chipping in with some bowling. he's been consistent domestically over the last few years, he's shown he has the skills to do well at the international level, if he is given a proper run up the order i really believe he will be a consistent run scorer for BD.

If he is picked for #3 or #4, he should get a chance for a few matches to prove his worth. If Ash can get 169 ODI, it is not an unreasonable expectation.

Specially when our top order is in such a bad condition, I think Naeem should be given a chance...

Most Bangladeshi players have a common problem. When they get the chop, they get the form of life.
Look at Ash's magnificent innings in CTG when he got the chop, look at Riyad's back to back century or Shahriar's game in the NCL or Rokibul's century against England. But they all loose it when it really matters.Ash has been a laughing stock for so long, SN is struggling, Rokibul, Zohir ke to lantern diyeo khuje pawa jai na aaj kaal..I stopped dreaming big
I pray that Naeem doesnt follow this trend and will continue to score lots of runs in international arena..I hope that the team management will exploit him according to his potential...

I think we might have found at least a couple of youngsters (Nasir and Hom) for lower-middle order. Whether they are going to be long-term success is yet to be seen. Let us fix the top order. #3 and #4 need fixing!
