Nadif got his first call in natinal team. A good day for cricfanz, who has been waiting for it for a l-o-n-g time. she has become quite irregular lately, this will probably bring her back!

This is defnitely good move to include Mushfiq. Now, I want the explanation for the omission from the squad. It should be a rest to expermient with Mushfiq.

We don't need Pilot against Scots. Now, I want Pilot to play in the world cup and officlially retire from ODI after that.

He served Bangladesh cricket for a long time. He deserves some respect to call it bye from ODI.

Perhaps the selectors are trying to play 'Ashrafool trick' on Pilot by keeping him out of the team and see if he can score 200+ in sideline matches!

ICC is really not liking us progress especially after the first test scare against BD last april, so they are now trying to make sure we go down one level .

Pilot should be in the WC team due to his vast experience of international cricket.
Mushfiq is a good choice for the Comming series as well! Though, it might be tougher one for Mushfiq!!!

Well I am pretty sure Pilot will play in the world cup. So it is just a matter of resting him and giving young Mushfiq some exposure more than anything else. I feel Nadif call in the national team is a little too soon but it is also probably just for the exposure. He won't be playing any games and will be with the team just to gain experience.

Inconsistency....

They could / should done these also...

1. Rest Bashar and let Shahriar lead
2. Rest Rafiq and let Enamul Play
3. Rest Masri and let Shahadat & Ruseel open

All Bashar, Rafiq and Masri are guranteed for WC just like Pilot is. Plus Bangladesh can even win against Scottland with the A team.

I agree with Mahmood bhai. But I think the management isn't confident enough to make radical changes in the team. I don't know about Pilot though, coz you never know what the selectors are thinking. May be they're thinking Pilot is definitely in for WC, so lets just try out Mushfiq for a few more times. In that way, it's a good move. But Pilot should play in the WC and retire after that. It's a serious insult to a player to get dropped before WC, specially who has served the team for 13 years.

Good Decision By selectors...... I hope Pilot once again prove everyone that he is still not replaceable at least for the WC.

Everybody is taking 'Rampant Lion' very lightly. Is not that called 'complacent'! We need to put our strong team with one or two inclusions of youngsters, which will not affect our strength and performance. We had a very bitter taste against this Team at their backyard. They have few good players, who play in the counties, like Dougie Brown in Warwickshire and Wellington; Gavin Hamilton in Durham and Yorkshire; John Blain in Northamptonshire and Yorkshire.
It will be a different game than the drum beat of Zim-BD-Zim, Zim-BD-Zim.

Yeah..right decision. We can test Mushfiq with the scotts..not in WC.
I would say Pilot can retire from ODI's after WC..but tests ..he can play..he can play better than Mushfiq.

I must say I was a Masud supporter and aginst his axing but Mushfiq looked so comfortable and a good leader behind the stumps very vocal. You can tell that boy going to lead that side one day. He played well with the bat too ... if he plays well against Scotland I can see more rest for Masud ...... if thats what you call it!.

just what i wanted - to try mushfiq out a bit more. with pilot out of the squad, he is sure to play both matches i guess.

btw, not sure what the selectors are thinking (i.e. whether pilot is in or out for the world cup), but albeit being a pilot fan, i wouldn't mind mushfiq to take his place sooner than anticipated if he performs.

about nadif, i really think it's too early. SH, MH, MR, FR and now NC - that's five new faces over the last couple of months! macaronni!

Pilot is not out. He has been given an opportunity to rest. Read the article in bangladesherkhela.com.

how can team's success be sacrificed to respect an elderly player? WC is the most important tournament. pilot is a good fighter but everything has its end. i am all for taking Mush in the WC. he already showed his batting potential in england. so thankyou pilot for a great service now take a respectable retirement from international cricket.

good move by the selectors. now they should test musfiq by sending him to bat in top order or may be at 5-6
