Nazmul is about the same height as Tapash is, and is probably couple of inches taller than Sharif is. He is there because taller pacers like Dollar, Zia, or Shafaq are not doing any better.

I was wondering what happened to Shafaq? Why he and Talha weren't picked to represent the A side? And on what merit zia was picked?

The sky in BD is currenlty heavily overcast with occassional drizzles and and cooler breeze. Perfect English conditions. So no doubt the Eng-A team will give the BD-A boys some real taste of fast bowling!

Nadif and Marshall hasn't done anything yet. They are our future stars and need to step up and show how good they really are. I am really impressed with Sagir though.

Bangladesh A v England A, Bogra, 2nd day

Broad makes up for lost time

Stuart Broad put England A in a strong position as the second Test against Bangladesh A finally got underway at Bogra following the first-day washout. He claimed 3 for 54 as the home side struggled to 121 for 8 after being asked to bat in bowler-friendly conditions.

When play started after lunch Broad struck without a run on the board when Jahirul Islam was bowled. Graham Onions continued his impressive form with two wickets and Tim Bresnan also chipped in with a brace.

Bangladesh managed a small recovery late in the day with wicketkeeper Sahagir Hossain Pavel holding firm with an unbeaten 30.

England's captain Michael Yardy said his decision at the toss had been a simple one. "I had no hesitation in asking Bangladesh to bat," he told ecb.co.uk. "The wicket had been under cover for two days and looked as near an English bowling wicket as we're likely to get here."

Despite the loss of the entire first day, Yardy is still thinking in terms of a victory and a 2-0 series win. "If we could accelerate the game and make-up for the lost day, then we can win this match - and again we want to play positively, as in the first Test.

"We've put ourselves in the driving seat now, especially if we can get the remaining wickets in the morning and look to bat through day three. It was a tremendous performance by our seamers to get us into that position."

Scorecard from TC

I am seriously disappointed at Marshall Ayub. May be Saghir and Marshall should swap places in the batting order.

Match report from ECB-

Broad stars for England A

England A reduced their Bangladesh counterparts to 121 for eight at the end of a truncated second day of the second four-day Test in Bogra, with Leicestershire seamer Stuart Broad the pick of the bowlers with 3-54.

Following a complete washout on the first day, England A captain Michael Yardy asked the hosts to bat but wickets fell at regular intervals, with Jahirul Islam bowled by Broad before a run had been scored.

Broad produced two out-swingers followed by a sharp inswinger as Jahurul was bowled launching into a drive.

One ball later Nick Compton had a chance to run out Mehrab Hossain Jr but the batsman survived.

Mehrab (20) and Marshall Ayub (8) were both caught at second slip by Tim Bresnan after chasing wide deliveries while Nasiruddin Faruque also edged behind - this time to wicket-keeper Steven Davies.

Bangladesh A were in big trouble at 67 for five when skipper Tushar Imran went for 19 then Nadif Chowdhury (17), Mosharaf Rubel (1) and Dollar Mahmud (0) all got out in quick succession.

Nadif fell to a Bresnan delivery which clipped his middle stump after playing a couple of delightful shots.

Broad, Graham Onions, who took 2-38, and Bresnan (2-13 from 10 overs) proved dangerous in helpful conditions for seam bowling but the home side staged something of a fightback with wicket-keeper Sahagir Hossain Pavel unbeaten on 30 and Enamul Haque 12 not out at the close.

Play was delayed on the second day until after lunch because of more rain at the tidy Shaheed Chandu stadium which became the world's newest Test venue in March last year, when Sri Lanka beat the hosts by 10 wickets.

England won the first match in the current series by five wickets in Mirpur following a dramatic run-chase on the last day.

England captain Yardy said: "I had no hesitation in asking Bangladesh to bat. The wicket had been under cover for two days and looked as near an English bowling wicket as we're likely to get here. If we could accelerate the game and make-up for the lost day, then we can win this match - and again we want to play positively, as in the First Test. We've put ourselves in the driving seat now, especially if we can get the remaining wickets in the morning and look to bat through day three. It was a tremendous performance by our seamers to get us into that position."

Broad dismissed the promising Bangladesh opener Jahirul early on Friday and has also dismissed him twice before on the current tour. The Leicestershire man bowled him for nought in the first innings of first Test and got him out for four when England A played the Bangladesh National Academy.

Broad added: "It was good to get Jahirul again in the first over, especially as he looked really good top scoring in the second innings in Dhaka, but I think we all made good use of the pitch and bowled in the right areas. We've given ourselves a really good chance from here, despite the shortened match."

And our batter's cluelessness against the moving ball continues. I'm disappointed that Mehrab at least didn't manage to survive. What can we do to improve this weakness? It's not like we can order up a large number of greentops for the NCL. I suggest we send more of our players to club cricket in UK. It should be especially easy for the Sylheti players. I'm sure they can find some cousin to sponsor them
