Default Albanians swipe Bush's wristwatch - War on Albania?

May be an old news to a few, but this is the latest development of Bush's Euro Trip! He gets pickpocketed. Whitehouse has denied this by saying he took it off himself. But the video suggests something else.

The whole world is laughing at this joker. Get a LIFE man!

Could this possibly mean a War on Albania?

Quote:
Here’s George W. Bush in Albania — the only pro-Bush country left on the planet. Watch closely from 45 seconds in to just after the one-minute mark. There’s Dubs shaking hands with the crowd, surrounded by the most nervous Secret Service guys we’ve ever seen, and then a whole bunch of hands go around his left wrist … and then his watch is gone! ~~~~~ stole his watch!

George, when you travel to third-world countries or Italy (and Albania is sorta both), you do not wear a bunch of expensive ~~~~~ that can be easily pickpocketed. Didn’t your mom teach you this stuff when your dad was the U.S. ambassador to China?

The White House denies everything, of course, and has instead made up a dumb story about the Secret Service guys clandestinely removing his watch just in time.

This is a matter of national security! America is in danger! The watch was made with a special transmitter that can self-destruct US of A in an event of alien invasion after Bush watched Independece Day. Now America must wage war on Albania to retrieve it

Haha, yea. The person who did that really has the gutts.

You know what will follow? Just watch CNN, and if they ultimately accept the fact that Bush got pickpocketed, they will come up with a campaign in making their "god's" life more secure. If it's not accepted that he has been pickpocketed, they will launch a campaign saying how secure their "god's" life is.

Sadly enough, I don't watch TV. Can anyone post here and let us know about the latest development on US media?

I can't tell whether that dude loves Bush so much that he just has to have his watch..

Or whether he absolutely hates Bush and wants to embarass him by taking the watch...

Or maybe he just accidentally ended up there and decided to make some quick cash.

Whatever it is, he has some serious courage.

I will hereby stop my endeavor of getting News out of CNN ... everytime I flipped to CNN yesterday, it was either about Paris Hilton getting out of jail, or Paris Hilton getting back in jail.

But what guts, though! However, what I don't get is ... how come Albanians are allowed to "makhamakhi" with Bush that much, when citizens of his own country are not? I remember Bush was an "honorary" guest in a graduation ceremony for a community college around my area, and there were chains seperating The Bush from his Subjects. Like Jon Stewart said ... "We are not even allowed to ask questions!"

The Albanians are muslims. Perhaps they took the watch from Bush's wrist as a protest against his invasion of muslim countries?

Yes, you are right ... they are 70% Muslim (Mostly Sunni and some Sufis, I believe).

Maybe the guy who took it thought it was the "End of Time" watch.

Such massive support in Albania is a direct result of the US's consistence support for the independence of Kosovo ... or so they say.

Albania has been consistently the poorest country in Europe and the Us administrations had targetted aid in that direction for many years knowing that it would provide a nice foothold in the Balkans.

There's something to do with their independence also. I think US has always backed them in many areas, which raised popularity of any US administration in that country.

But there's been a recent allegation that Osama bin Laden has an Albanian passport. I was told that by a colleague at work, and have no sources to support this claim. Anyone knows about it, or has some source for this?

Relax everybody, World War Three avoided for now. President Moron actually took it off himself and put it in his pant pocket. ABC news showd the clip.

May I ask why he took his watch off? I am not a regular watch wearer. Certainly, if I am working in my study or at a library I would always take my watch off my wrist and place it on the table to see the time rather better. For the leader of the free world I would have assumed that there would be at least ten secret servicemen around him to tell the time whenever he needed.

Perhaps he was secretly worried that the Rolex might slip out of his wrist when the Albanians try to shake his hand?

Yes, that's it. Kosovo is part of Serbia though being mostly populated by albanian muslims. Independence of Kosovo is delicate matter as it is considered as historical part of their country by serbians...

Anyway the reason why NATO protected albanians during the war in the Balkans is merely pragmatic: the USA are against Serbia as this country is traditionally allied to Russia, so by them it is just an attempt to weaken the slavic region.

It is true that majority of Albanians are muslims (around 75%) but religion is not that fundamental and has never been a matter of controversy. Also the most famous Albanian citizen was Mother Theresa of Calcutta (Kolkhata), a catholic nun.

After the fall of communism economy had a collapse in Albania and it became the poorer european country and many Albanians went to look for a decent life in Greece and Italy, now things are improving but still a lot of time before Albania will be admitted to join the EU as they required.

...unsurprisingly I think there is hardly one albanian who knows what cricket is! Their national sport is football and they had their best time when they beat rivals Greece 2-1 in a WC qualifier in september 2004, just a couple of months after Greece stunning victory at European Championships!
