Pakistan all rounder Abdul Razzaq quit from international cricket because of being omitted from Twenty20 WC.

I don't understand these players. Too much ego. First Kallis quits as VC, and now this. It's only a T20 tournament - it's not even proper cricket.

pak cricketers are always like this if you dont select them or something they will quit ,i mean come on do they have to do that.

I think the board will persuade him to join the PAK national team in due time... unless he joins he ICL

well they won't quit but they are like not complete sports men they will jump over you if you do something example shoiab aktars statement about the 20 20 game that every thing is against the bowlers and all.

he did the right thing.. i saw some 20/20 match innings from him and he was pretty good stroke players.. he played some fantastic innnings in the domestic 20/20 league..

pakistan board is full of craps.. they choose players whom they like not the ones who deserve to be in the team..

Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq has joined Worcestershire for the remainder of the 2007 season as a replacement for Phil Jaques and Doug Bollinger who have returned to Australia for the A-team tour of Pakistan.

Razzaq had announced his retirement from international cricket as a protest against his omission from Pakistan's Twenty20 World Championship squad. He arrived in Worcester on Sunday and would join the squad for training before travelling to Canterbury for the Championship match against Kent starting on Tuesday.

"It has been very difficult to find quality replacement overseas players because of the forthcoming Twenty20 World Championships and Abdul's availability has come at just the right time," Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton said. "He has scored over 6500 runs and taken nearly 350 wickets at international level and will certainly give us the quality and experience we need during the last few weeks of the season, particularly in the Natwest Pro40 competition. We have received clearance from the Pakistan Cricket Board but still need to complete the registration procedures with the ECB."

nachte na janle uthan baka. he hasn't been performing in the international scene, and has also been in and out due to injury, so his omission on the grounds of lack of fitness and form aren't too distant from reality.

is that why Players Like ABdool Samad and Qaiser Ali go to Canada and make a name forthemselves there?

Abdool Samad was born in Guyana, not Pakistan. Qaiser Ali played a single List A match in his life, that too for RawalPindi B. None of them was ever good enough to play for Pakistan.

Abdul Razzaq has taken back his decision to retire from international cricket and is available once again to represent Pakistan. The allrounder's decision comes after discussions with his local club and long-time coach.

"I have reversed my decision and am available for Pakistan once again," Razzaq told Cricinfo. "I have had many discussions with P&T Gymkhana and my coach, Azhar Zaidi, and we felt it was better if I took back my original decision. Maybe I made that in the heat of the moment."

Razzaq announced his retirement from international cricket in August, in protest at being ignored by the selectors in the squad for the ICC World Twenty20. He accused the selection committee and the board of not treating him with enough respect and dropping him for matters other than his form. The selectors maintained that he was still in their plans for ODI and Test cricket, though his form in those formats has been unconvincing over the last year or so. In his last 15 ODIs, he averages 17.30 and has taken only 12 wickets.

Three fifties and 38 wickets in his last 15 Tests have also done nothing to help his cause, though injuries have hardly helped the process. He missed the Test series against South Africa late last year and the World Cup in the West Indies subsequently. In 2005, he also missed the home series against England with an elbow injury.

Razzaq now plans to take part in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam trophy for Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL). The doors back to international cricket will not open immediately, however. Salahuddin Ahmed, chief selector, said Razzaq would need to show that he was back to his bristling best. "Let him play first-class matches first and prove his form and fitness there. After that, the doors are always open for every first-class cricketer in the country," Salahuddin told Cricinfo.

And further obstacles may exist in the form of the Indian Cricket League (ICL). Razzaq was one of four Pakistani players to sign up for the league and the Pakistan board still maintains that anyone who does turn out in the ICL will not represent Pakistan.

Mohammad Yousuf, another player to sign for the ICL, was convinced by the board to opt for Pakistan instead, though no similar efforts were made with Razzaq. The league has threatened legal action against Yousuf. Razzaq says, however, he will wait and see how matters develop before deciding on a course of action as far as his contract with the ICL is concerned.

Was looking for this thread to post the same news, but couldn't find it. Anyways, nothing unexpected. I always thought his initial decision was pretty stupid and immature. If you get dropped you don't cry and leave - you prove yourself and get back in and make the selectors shut the hell up.

Very true. But may be that Razzaq has learned from past examples that once PCB starts ignoring a player, his career is as good as over.
