what happened to Talha
Hi guys, I am a new member of this site. Just wondering what happened to the quicky Talha. He is supposed to be our second quickest pace bowler. He is not listed in the national team, not touring pakistan with the A guys, not even in the under 19's team. Where did he go?

Hey dude, welcome. Is this your name? I also got the "g" in my name.
Talha probably got left out cause he was erratic and bowls too many extras; is'nt chummy with selectors.

As far as I know, he is practising with the under 19 team although he was left out of the final 15 of the U-19 Asia cup. He is probably more suitable for the longer-version.

Fully understanding his short-coming, it makes me jittery that he isn't a part of any final eleven.
I really hope he can break back into the test team within an year and lend credible backup to MASRI !!
That's my year 2005 Ney Year wish.

By all accounts he should be 2nd to MASRI only.
I think there were some speed measures from out of South Africa.
Wll in tests,
Tapash averages near 60 off 11 tests & Talha 48 off 6.

From what I recall in the SA wc game, he varied between 78-82 mph.
And that was ofcourse an ODI.
He has a very unrhythmic run-up and a slingy delivery. Bad for the viewers eyes, I tell you.

SO what's the current tally then?
Masri: 85-90 mph
Talha: 80-85 mph(?)

Problem with him is he looses complete control when he tries to increase his speed. He has ok delivery around 80mph, but above that he doesn't know what he is doing. I remember one wide landing on around 1st slip

Welcome to the board.
We're already experienced with one out of control fast bowler in Hasibul Hussain Shanto, the only reason for trying out Talha Jubair was (plus when he was 16) because our selectors were desperate to find a replacement quickie like Mashrafee.

I think Talha should be coached by the great fast bowlers like Wasim Akram when inviting Wasim to coach the bowlers of the Bangladesh team and after that he should be given a chance to prove himself
