Default The Official ex-ICL Players Monitor

thought we should keep all updates and discussions of the ex-ICLers from now until their reinstatement into the national team in one thread. mostly we can easily keep track of their domestic performances before that big date in 2010.

If theyre not already playing in the academy/ A-team, then how can we expect any of them to be in national fold until the end of next year.

I think its a ridicolous waste, I wanted to see Alok and SN in the squad for the England and NZ series.

Why are we waiting so long, since Pakistan and NZ brought in the players the very next game.

Has anyone else noticed how much aftab ahmed has put on since he last played for BD? I can't tell if this is because he's unfit or becasue he has just "matured".

I don't know how to paste pictures here, so hopefully this link will do: http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig...php?nid=107735

My goodness! that's a lot of pounds he gained. He better lose weight I don't see him making it to the NAT team in that condition.

I always look for improvement of national team. No matter for me what he have done in past or present.Where he comes from whats his past.He is bangladeshi thats it.If he can perform for the team i am in favoure of taking him in the team.
Any way i well come this thread and even only a single player can contribute to the national team from this ICL team i ll feel this thread is successfull.

Because those players were ahead of what the reserve benches in their respective countries had to offer, by leaps and bounds. Compare that to the pseudo-stable Bangladeshi line-up and the mejban eating habits of some of the Chatgaiya ICL-ers during off-peak hours. Are they better than what we have now? Maybe one or two. Are they match fit? We'll find out. In the meantime, we have a bunch of players who won't do much less than what the Warriors are offering at this stage.

Aftab has looked like he gained a lot of weight..look at him compared to Ash and Tamim..they look waay more fit then Aftab..Alok Kapali has also always been quite chubby..these players need to lose that extra fat before they come back in the team..and perform in the domestic league..

Irrespective of their weight, both Aftab and Alok has been two of the best fielders in the bangladesh side. They both normally feild at jonty's position (to give u an idea)....

Physique wise i think Rubel, Riyad, Tamim and Shakib are the only ones without the "banglar famous bhuri"

Naeem, Mehrab, Shahadat, Enam, Zunaed, Razzak to name just a few others.

SN doesn't have a bhuri. Just a pacha.

I don't mind a batsman being fat. Among my favorite players Arvinda De Silva was no slim. Nor was David Boon. Inzi I thought use to own a rice aroth? Miadad had a fat ratio of .... As long as they last more than a session and do the damage (perform) I have no issue with FAT/OBESSE players.

...actually fat players can even save some boundary with their bhuri as a shield.

and as a batsman they may hit more 6s and 4s avoiding 1s and 2s and thereby better RR.
