Thumbs up Congratulations Ireland

I wish to congratulate the Irish team for the spirit that they have always managed to give to the game. They have scared and dominated us repeatedly. They fully deserve to be a part of the next world cup, as they have managed to live up to their promises by making a BIG point.

To all the Irish players - you have won my heart, and must have also won a few more hearts. I will be rooting for you throughout this world cup, and you have managed to be my 2nd favorite team (first, unfortunately, is still held by our morons due to the unfortunate relationship I have with them).

Best of luck to Ireland for the rest of the tournament...they obviously have a crucial match against the Old Enemy in England to look forward to later in the tournament, amongst other challenges.

They fought hard, and had us on the ropes...but we just had that little bit of luck towards the end.

It feels good to open a thread like this when your team has won the match. Feels exactly opposite in a losing cause.

Good stuff Ireland...experience and home turf helped us win!! Having said that win or lose we were easily the more exciting team...Ireland is boring!!

Both the Irish and Neth are making a big point here. ICC should be embarrassed and ashamed. They are no Kenya, Zim and Ban, they are way better for their early days. They are the future of cricket and it'd be a huge let down, and if they gets chopped then ICC will be only shattering 30+ dreams.

It's been a great journey for these Irish, reading those article on CI about them really makes you feel happy and hopeful.

Best of luck to them for rest of the WC, hope they goes on to beat any of the top teams

No questions asked...but then, if not my favorite team, my second favorite would have won.

Good way to prove the point. My 2nd favorite team next to BD. Job well done.

May be we can move this thread to ICC?

Not that I dislike Ireland, I would like India to thrash them in the next match just for the sake of us going thru .

I would trade Ashraful, Nayeem, Rakibul and Mahmudullah for K O'brien.

Congrat IRE. They should how we should have approached the first game. They never gave up, took the power play on time and the rest is history. We never tried. IF we did, who knew what would happen.
