Their government is insane.
Votes 80 % of the population is black, and its pretty much a 1 party system,so votes.
Their loss,everyone else's gain.
Must be trying to quell the fact that S Africas' leader has to pay 20 million back in costs.

It's not a black and white issue. Yes, I absolutely hate the quota system, but to assume that everyone gets a fair chance is sipping nothing but the naivete punch.

It never is.
But you have black batsmen being picked averaging 15-20 and still getting games domestically and bowlers averaging over 35 per wkt still being picked.
Its a bloody awful system.
The money should be poured into townships, than picking players who are clearly not good enough.
The system is now corrupted even further.
Financially the juniors are the 1's who miss out,and the future of the game.
And this comes on top of cricket refusing day/night tests, further financially hacking news.

Fatty mcfatty "embarassed to call himself South African". Then again people likes headlines.

But really....? I never liked this fat dude of an all rounder, but to be embarrassed about nationality by some stupid decision is prime example of making a big deal out of nothing.

I got news for you Kallis, there are far worse things in life and in general that goes in that country to be embarrassed about.

Racism is bad even of that is aimed at the white population....

There is nothing wrong with what Kallis said... there is a reason south Africa never won the world cup.. because they usually play with 9.5 men against 11

Apparently their are local elections around the corner,so this is seen as a political move to appriase the black masses who live in poverty.
I hate when their is only 1 party that can win.
anyway unachieveable goals cricket and rugby primarily remain white dominant sports for a reason, soccer is the only 1 that gets a clean chit and it goes the other way.
Wish the ICC could intervene, but as they say thats politics.

I don't think we can blame the government too much. Think of it from their point of view. Imagine if Bangladesh had about 8% population of British Whites that stayed over after 1940s. And supposedly these 8% happen to be in a higher financial earning group, which means that their kids have access to better facilities to sports, education etc. Now if the BD national team consisted only of a Shakib or Mustafiz and the rest were represented by these 8% Former colonials, I think we would not be too happy.

Quota system is never fair. But at the same time, 92% of the population simply can't be ignored. I think the quota system has to be enforced more on the grass roots level and in the domestics so that the rate of churning out talents will be quicker. It's a long process for CSA but I think they will get there.

Traditionally Cricket and Rugby is a wjite mans sport.
Not enough been done in the townships.
Rabada comes from middle class/high class background.
In their first class comps the bowling been ok/good for coloured and black players, but apart from 2/ batsmen the batsmen have been woeful averaging 15.20 after 6.7 games, the only reason they are persisted with is their colour.
The first class system has dropped easy wkts, blow out in scores, the standard is a low one.
If you take 60% thats 7 players, their isn't 7 good enough players black/coloured for the national team.
Even the national quotas now of 4 coloured players, its really pushing it S Africa internationally has dropped the last 12 months.Imagine if it was 7 players of colour as the government wanted,S Africa would be 8/9 instead of stead of 2/3 they are now.

Australia which has picked 4/5 sub continent players in the last 18 months, some have not worked out,but anyway they are now no 1 in tests and one dayers, and Usman Khawajah is a world class batsmen.
